Activities at Snowdrop Place Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

A day at the Seaside

What a fabulous day out with our wonderful residents at Hillhead! The sun may not have had his hat on, but that didn’t stop us from making the most of every moment.

We set up camp at The Wheelhouse, where the fresh sea air mixed perfectly with the smell of freshly baked cake, what a treat for the senses! After a delicious lunch, the competitive spirit kicked in with a summertime quiz, full of laughs and a bit of friendly rivalry.

We wrapped up the day with a bracing (and slightly windy!) walk along the shore, taking in the beautiful coastal views. Days like these are what memories are made of.

Enjoying the England football match!

Too short notice to get to the stadium… so we brought the stadium experience to Snowdrop Place instead!

Our residents weren’t about to miss out on the big match, so we transformed our lounge into a mini fan zone.

By popular request, we served up classic pint & pie while everyone settled in to watch the game. The atmosphere was electric with cheers of excitement and a few nail-biting moments.

We love seeing the passion and spirit our residents bring to events like this. It’s about more than just football – it’s about togetherness, and creating special memories right here at home.

Surprise BBQ Fun

What’s better than a sunny day? An impromptu BBQ to go with it! Our amazing chef fired up the grill and treated everyone to a delicious feast – think chicken kebabs, halloumi & veggie skewers, juicy burgers, and sizzling sausages, all served with classic BBQ sides like creamy coleslaw and potato salad. All the team were on hand to enjoy.

Of course, it was all washed down with a refreshing summer Pimm's – the perfect way to enjoy the sunshine!

Employee of the Month - June

A huge well done and congratulations to our Senior Care team member Liliana Toderasc on her well deserved Employee of the Month award.

Lili as she is affectionately known enjoys looking after and supporting all of our residents. With her friendly smile and great working attitude she's an important part of our home here at Snowdrop.

A day out on the Solent with Wet Wheels

Ahoy there! John W, John H, Len, Sylvia, and Ann swapped dry land for sea legs on a fabulous boat trip with Wet Wheels Hamble! With the wind in their hair and the sun on their faces, they had a brilliant time cruising the waves. Huge thanks to the incredible crew for keeping us afloat, steering us straight, and giving us an afternoon full of laughs, fresh air, and unforgettable moments.

Our lovely residents at Snowdrop Place are beating the heat in the best way possible — with refreshing ice lollies and delicious iced coffees! Whether it’s a fruity frozen treat or a chilled pick-me-up, we’re making sure everyone stays cool and hydrated. Here’s to sunny days, great company, and plenty of cool refreshments!

Snowdrop residents enjoy Get Moving Week at Tenpin Bowling

What a brilliant time we had at Tenpin as part of Barchester’s Get Moving week! Our residents took to the lanes with plenty of enthusiasm and... some very creative bowling techniques!

No strikes were scored, but that didn’t stop the fun! Huge congratulations to John W, who was crowned our winner with a whopping 90 points — not bad for someone who claimed they were “just aiming for the gutter”!

Thanks to Tenpin for the warm welcome and helping us make memories. We may not be ready for the bowling league just yet, but we had an absolute ball!

Employee of the Month - May

Congratulations to Anisa, a really important and well loved member of our Housekeeping Team at Snowdrop Place as she is our Employee of the Month for May.

Knowing each resident individually and taking time during her busy days to interact with them, our resident Audrey loves nothing more than a cuppa and a natter when Anisa has a moment.

We really do appreciate all you do, so thank you.

World Culture and Diversity Day at Snowdrop Place

Snowdrop Place came alive with colour, rhythm, and flavour as we celebrated Culture Day—a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the diverse cultures that make our home so special.

Residents and team members joined together to enjoy traditional dancing, sample sweet and savoury delights from around the world, and learn fascinating facts about each other's backgrounds. A special shout out to our talented Romanian chef, who treated us to some truly delicious dishes!

Days like these remind us how rich and vibrant life is when we celebrate our differences and share our stories. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this joyful event to life!
