Activities at Silverbirch House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Bo Tse
With previous experience working in a care home as an activities coordinator, I have developed a strong passion for enhancing the daily lives of residents through engaging and meaningful activities.
I am thrilled to join Barchester because of its outstanding reputation for providing exceptional care and a warm, community-focused environment. In my role, I will be dedicated to creating enriching programs that promote social interaction and well-being, helping both residents and their families feel supported and connected.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Silverbirch House Care Home

Silverbirch House Wear it Pink Day
Silverbirch House hosted a Wear it Pink Breakfast and information talk as part of 'Breast Cancer Awareness Month'. We started the day with a fantastic pink-themed breakfast spread in the Silverbirch House Bistro, setting the tone for a morning of information and support. Staff dressed in pink, and residents and friends gathered in the Tovey Lounge to hear from two inspiring guest speakers who shared insights on breast cancer awareness and early detection.

Happy Birthday Colin from all at SBH
Staff, residents, and family gathered to celebrate Colin in the only way that befits such a lovely man. Our private dining area was the perfect setting for a hearty meal and a family celebration.
Colin is a former Royal Navy Engineer with a career that spanned decades of wartime and technological development and is one of the many cherished residents here at Silverbirch House.
We hope this day lives long in his memory.

Today at Silverbirch House
What could be more life-enriching than a wholesome baking session? Our residents were in the kitchen today for a morning of baking apple tarts! The flour flew the rolling pin rolled as the team put the tarts together. The smell of apple and cinnamon was enough but the best part was enjoying the fruits of our labour.

Our Community make us a home
At Silverbirch House, our community of residents and staff truly make this place feel like home. While we take pride in maintaining high standards, our people’s warmth sets us apart. From life-enriching activities to nutritious meals, and engaging experiences, we strive to make each day stimulating and fulfilling. Activities include arts, and crafts, quizzes and games, local outings and live entertainment to name just a few. We’re committed to supporting the mind, body, and soul while ensuring independence, dignity, and choice for everyone.

Celebrating Romania Day at Silverbirch House!
Today, at Silverbirch House we celebrated Romania Day, honouring the vibrant culture of one of the many countries represented by our incredible team.
Cristina, our deputy manager, graced us in beautiful traditional Romanian attire! She also gave us a fascinating insight into Romanian customs and traditions and even shared some everyday Romanian phrases—now we know how to say “Mulumesc!” (Thank you)!
Thank you, Cristina, and everyone who made this day so special!
