Nicky Dymott

Administrator, Speak Up Champion

Hello, My name is Nicky and I am the Administrator at Silverbirch House.  I joined Barchester in January, having worked in the care industry for 20 years I have always heard great things about the company and am pleased to be working here in this beautiful home.

I take great pride in my work and I am happy to be in a position that supports my colleagues, our residents and our families. I am also the homes 'Speak Up' Champion, meaning my colleagues can come to me confidentially to discuss any work matters they wish. this is something I am very proud of.

I have two grown children and I love animals. I also spend a lot of my spare time watching most sports. I am very happy to be part of this team.

Luba Glebow

Activities Coordinator

Hello, My name is Luba. I am the Activities Co-ordinator here at Silverbirch House. I am incredibly passionate about supporting our residents to do meaningful activities daily. Creating an environment that is full of life is very important to me.

Joanne Thorp

My name is Joanne or Jo to all my friends and colleagues. I cannot put into words how excited I am to be working as a part of the Silverbirch House family. I have worked for the past 27 years in education and social care and loved every minute. (yes, I am 51 and looking so young). I have brought up two fantastic children, both autistic, who are now young adults.
My hobbies are yoga, knitting, board games, exploring outdoors and retaining my passion for learning something every day, As I promised my dad as he lived his life to the full -  I would never lose my sense of wonder. For your loved ones as one door closes, let them come and enjoy the wonders as another door opens. The residents are the reason I get up in the morning and cannot sleep at night – as I said “far too exciting for words”

Samuel Lilywhite-Smith

Head Chef

Hello, my name is Samuel. I have been a chef for 14 years and bring to the team a wealth of experience. I want to challenge the stigma around chefs working in care homes. The food I provide here is restaurant quality and in a different league to others. Care has always been a big part of my life as my mother used to manage a care home. I am a keen fisherman and I love music. I am particularly passionate about growing vegetables in my allotment. I’ve had great success with Asian veggies, but struggle with parsnips. Who would have thought that?

Lee Annalls

Head of Maintenance

Hello, my name is Lee I am the Head of Maintenance. I joined Barchester because they have a good reputation as one of the industry leaders and they have won lots of awards. I used to run my own business as a multi-skilled tradesman and worked as a facilities manager looking after three schools, so I have a lot of experience in compliance and health and safety. I am proud to join Barchester, as I know I will be able to expand my skills and I can advance my career.

In my own time, I enjoy family time with my four girls and I am excited that I will soon be a grandad. I still haven’t accepted the fact that at 44 years of age, I shouldn’t spend 3 times a week and every Sunday running around the football pitch or playing golf. Occasionally I will rest my legs and watch a bit of Netflix.

Dawn Johnson

Head of Housekeeping

I joined Barchester due to its excellent reputation. I started my career as a receptionist in Camberley and previously worked as a housekeeping team supervisor at an army camp. Having worked in housekeeping for 25 years, I am highly experienced in this field. I am a proud grandmother and cherish my wonderful family. One of my biggest accomplishments was completing my NVQ in Hospitality, Supervision, and Leadership at the age of 53.

In my free time, I enjoy both in-person and online shopping. If any of our residents need assistance with shopping, I am always happy to help. I also love relaxing with a good crime novel and chatting with others. To combine my two passions, I plan on setting up a book club here.

Asma Rahamathulla

Administration assistant

Hello, my name is Asma. I work as the receptionist and administration assistant at Silverbirch House. Since joining the team, I've felt a strong connection with Barchester, and have enjoyed bonding with my new colleagues. Everyone at Silverbirch has been so kind and helpful to me. I'm proud to be the first person in my family to graduate, with a degree in computer science and engineering. I'm confident that Barchester will help me to further develop my skills and shape my life. I'm also a mother of two beautiful children and have a wonderful family. My biggest wish is for my parents to visit from India so I can show them where I work and the incredible Barchester family I'm a part of. I consider Silverbirch House my new home, and I hope you will too.

Bob Beight

Resident Ambassador

Meet Bob, Silverbirch’s Resident Ambassador.

Bob was the first resident to move in to his new forever home, when we opened our doors just a few short weeks ago. We are delighted for him to take on this role. Bob was born in Gateshead before moving to Surrey for his career in his 20’s. He had a very successful career as a Health and Safety Manager at an Oil Company. He has 3 sons and 6 grandchildren who he is extremely proud of.

You will usually find Bob in our Cafe with a hot drink and listening to Opera his favourite kind of music. Come along join us for a coffee, some home-made cake. Meet the team and of course Bob and the other residents too.
