Activities at Silverbirch House Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Bo Tse

Head of Activities

With previous experience working in a care home as an activities coordinator, I have developed a strong passion for enhancing the daily lives of residents through engaging and meaningful activities.

I am thrilled to join Barchester because of its outstanding reputation for providing exceptional care and a warm, community-focused environment. In my role, I will be dedicated to creating enriching programs that promote social interaction and well-being, helping both residents and their families feel supported and connected.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Silverbirch House Care Home

The Hive Food Bank Donation

General Manager Louise went along to the Hive Community Centre where they ask for regular donations for their food banks. The Hive provides a safe and secure place for local residents to visit and enjoy an array of activities, services, support along with giving invaluable help for those who need it most. Louise wanted to show our support and help by popping along and giving a hamper of goodies.

National Carers Week Ice Cream Mr Whippy Visit

Our wonderful carers we thank you for all your hard work and commitment and so as a little extra treat we arranged a visit from Craig AKA MR WHIPPY ICE CREAM VAN MAN

Our hard working and committed care team enjoyed an ice cream visit in honour of 'National Carers Week' and they went down a treat on such a hot day!

It's never as dull day with our fun loving care team and this was a well deserved small gesture to say THANK YOU for being the best!

Guildford Castle

We have some historian fans at Silverbirch House so we decided to plan a trip out on our mini bus to Guildford Castle where we could take a stroll in the beautiful grounds and enjoy the gorgeous weather! Robert loves to walk and was incredibly interested in the history of the castle and how they had kept the grounds so well maintained. These days out create memories to keep and we love nothing more than ensuring our residents have the most cherished times with us!

Rokers Gardening Club

Rokers Garden Centre joined us here to present a Q&A session on indoor plants and what to plant in your planters for the season

The lovely Jeni shared lots of tips and advice and the club was a huge success!

Thank You Cards

Our residents wanted to thank all the carers for all that they do by making their own thank you cards in homage for 'carers week'.

Wey Valley Students

We had our weekly visit from the Wey Valley Students who give so much joy to our residents by playing games and creating quizzes for them to participate in.

So we wanted to thank them with a gift and certificate for all their time and work given!
