Activities at Silverbirch House Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Head of Activities

With previous experience working in a care home as an activities coordinator, I have developed a strong passion for enhancing the daily lives of residents through engaging and meaningful activities.

I am thrilled to join Barchester because of its outstanding reputation for providing exceptional care and a warm, community-focused environment. In my role, I will be dedicated to creating enriching programs that promote social interaction and well-being, helping both residents and their families feel supported and connected.

ACTIVITIES AND EXERCISE

We decided to play a game of ball darts and our wonderful residents really enjoyed the competition and were 'innit to winnit!'

Exercise is vital because it improves both physical and mental health, helping to boost energy and reduces stress and anxiety. We love to keep entertained with a varied selection of games that all can join in.

DREAMS COME TRUE

When our lovely resident Paddy said he would love to go to the seaside after many years of not being able to get there we decided to get out our bucket and spades and set off to Clarence Pier

We had the best time and best weather to take in the sights whilst strolling on the pier. The day went far too fast as before we knew it we were back on the bus to return in time for our evening meals but not before we sampled some ice creams (EVERYONE has to have an ice-cream at the seaside!)

Surrey Hills Wellfest Festival

Surrey Hills Wellfest Festival

We joined the festival fun yesterday at Surrey Hills Wellfest,
The event allowed those in the health and wellness industry to display their valuable services, meet likeminded people, connect and share.
Networking is important to firstly give back to the local community by supporting these businesses and to show case what help is available to the public.
Some of the support groups that we met yesterday do vital work to help those who could be struggling with various issues and have no where to turn.
We had a wonderful day and made some amazing contacts to work with on future projects and events.
