Activities at Sherwood Court Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Residents enjoyed creating their very own Christmas cards for their loved ones this year. There was lots of glitter and festive spirit!
Children in Need
Staff and residents at Sherwood Court have taken part in a fun-filled day of activities to raise money for Children in Need. Children in Need is the BBC's UK charity. Since 1980 it has raised over £950 million for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. One of the highlights is an annual telethon, held in November and televised on BBC One and BBC Two, and the charity mascot 'Pudsey Bear' is as well-known as legendary host, Sir Terry Wogan, who hosted the telethon for 35 years.
Elizabeth Brotherton, General Manager said: “Taking part in this challenge has been a huge amount of fun and everyone at the home has been behind us all the way. It’s for such an important cause. I’m very glad to be able to do my bit to raise further awareness and money for the charity.”
Halloween Celebrations
Staff dressed up for Halloween to entertain our residents. We were also visited by some local children who were out trick-or-treating. Great fun was had by all!
Mobile Zoo Visit
Staff and residents enjoyed a visit from a local mobile zoo. Here is Daniella holding one of the snakes. Residents enjoyed holding the spiders and mice, along with a beautiful white owl
Macmillan Coffee Morning
All the staff and residents at Sherwood Court held a charity coffee morning on Friday 27th September to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. It was a big success – we managed to raise £187.95 and, most importantly, everyone had a lot of fun doing it!
Sherwood Court Celebrates Notting Hill Carnival

Staff at Sherwood Court made everyone feel welcome and were delighted to see different generations having fun together. Residents enjoyed plenty of refreshments, and Jerk chicken prepared by the catering team, it was a great team effort.
Resident, Mary Boon said, “I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was surrounded by lots of great people, and the refreshments kept flowing. Staff did a great job, not just on the day, but organising the event and getting everyone together.”
