Activities at Sherwood Court Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Sherwood Court Care Home

Father’s Day

Father’s Day at Sherwood Court was celebrated in style as it should be with a special lunch menu chosen by the men.

As part of our community engagement we are very lucky to have Ribbleton Avenue Methodist Junior school who brought all of male residents a father’s day gift, full of treats and a lovely handmade paper man.  We would like to thank the school and all the staff for their kindness and thoughtfulness to our residents . Robert said it was a lovely surprise and  was very touched.

Fun was had by all.

Thank you to all the staff for making the day.

RAF Hendon

Across our services we had a lovely time joining Rhiannon Watkinson from the RAF Museum London for an interactive talk exploring the exciting and innovative aviation history of Hendon.

Our residents were able to learn about the first flights from the fields at Hendon, the creation of the London Aerodrome and Battle of Britain pilots who flew from RAF Hendon.

The talk also included photographic and film material from the Museum’s archive. Residents across our homes had a fantastic time and we truly enjoyed the virtual experience.

Shopping at Asda

This morning at Sherwood Court, Glenys accompanied me on a trip to Asda. We had such a good time laughing and joking around in the supermarket chatting away with anyone and picking up the shopping for the home. It’s the little things like this that make such a big difference in daily life and living a normal day doing things that we would all usually do.

Visiting the Local Pub

Residents from Sherwood Court have had a lovely walk over to the local for a hearty lunch with family and a sift paint a change of scenery is exactly what is needed in this weather ,a chat with the locals that made us feel very welcome and staff that are so helpful to all are needs

Trip to Preston Dock

Absolutely gorgeous weather again residents from Sherwood Court are taking advantage and getting out.

Even managing to get a little trip to Preston dock, to soak up some sun, and look at all the marina wild life and boats.

Our residents remember how the dock was used many years ago for business purposes.

Residents back home are enjoying their morning coffee in or beautiful garden.

A trip to the woods

Here at Sherwood court we love to get out and about, so today in the glorious weather we have been to the woods to see the birds and listen to them sing and look at the wonderful wild flowers, then on to the Sherwood pub for a drink and a spot of lunch it was so much fun with the ladies that lunch, reminiscing about the days that ladies never went to the pub.
