Activities at Seaview House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

Boka Bowls at Seaview House

Here at Seaview House, we have dan an afternoon of Boka Bowls. A bit of rivalry always has everyone laughing when playing one of Seaview’s most popular activities. The reds compete against the blues.

Great Chieftain O’ the Puddin Race

Our Burns Day celebrations started with making our own table decorations in crafts then a traditional Burns Supper with the Haggis being piped in by a piper. Celebrating traditions and National days is important to us at Seaview House.

Residents and Staff Bingo Session

Residents and Staff Bingo is a Bingo competition we hold every Christmas and Easter where residents & staff can enjoy the time together and help each other win prizes.

The atmosphere and banter is brilliant and the residents love the fact there is so many around them offering help but they then know they can’t cheat as they are being helped, this always leads to a laugh.

Staff/resident interactions are important for all. Families were popping in and out whilst visiting and said it was so lovely to see and a very relaxed and homely environment. One resident rarely plays but was so happy there was so many around to help her and delighted when she won too. The staff won as well but gave their prizes to residents in the home who were not able to attend.

We're all already looking forward to our next big Bingo Session at Easter!

A Trip the Supermarket

The Ladies of Seaview House popped out for a Shopping trip at their request to get some treats. The ladies had a lovely time wandering around the shop and picked up lots of goodies. It's always a good trip when you meet old friends for a natter.

Royal Parks London

Across our services our residents have enjoyed a wonderful live virtual talk about starlings, one of the UK’s most gregarious birds, hosted by Rachel Dowse from The Royal Parks London.

Rachel examined our long history with this bird and the importance of common species to our lives. Our residents had the opportunity to find out more about the great murmuration and why we need to pay special attention to these beauties before it's too late.

The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.

Family Christmas Fun

Residents at Seaview had the most wonderful Christmas this year. This is the first year since 2019 that friends and families have been able to freely visit and join in group events and activities, including our visit from Santa! Residents had a truly magical day!
