Activities at Seaview House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

When a chat leads to a visit to a stable to groom a horse!

Resident Margaret came to Seaview for a 2 week respite stay and enjoyed attending activities and in one session she chatted about her love of horses. She said she would love to groom a horse again or even see a Clydesdale which is her favourite. Manger Gayle heard this and asked her Children’s riding teacher if she could help and she did! The smile on Margaret’s face says it all.

Residents, Family & Staff BBQ

Residents, family and staff enjoyed a lovely afternoon of music played by Local Musician Ady Harper. Everyone was delighted chatting away and sharing stories whilst they ate their burgers which were all served by one of our very own cooks in her Burger Van! Some say it brought back memories of going to a summer fayre and the music topped it off. The BBQ also gave resident Andy’s family an opportunity to have a 5 generation family photo when they all arrived.

Sweet treats

The weather was perfect today so it was a lovely day for residents, family and staff to have a burger whilst listening to Ady Harper play us a few tunes! Paula was at hand to serve up from her burger van with cook Maxi helping! Delish!! They were all delighted going out and placing their orders! Resident Andy was delighted as his family came and its not very often you can get a photo with 5 generations in it!!

Road Trip

What a beautiful day to go for a bus trip and an Ice cream! The old games are the best, always make you smile, what concentration on those faces.

Retail therapy

A Shopping trip for our shoppers today for some essentials, while some residents went swimming!

Then a beer or two was welcomed by tommy after lunch while the ladies had a laugh with some games, and Peggy was so delighted with a family visit today for her birthday and even more delighted to tell everyone she was 91 years young! Happy Birthday young lady.

Inside Mayfair

Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.

We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas.  The experience was truly enjoyed by all.
