Activities at Seaview House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

Life at Seaview House Care Home

Residents stay connected in Winter months

Residents are overjoyed at Seaview care home in Wick as Barchester Healthcare has implemented a visiting suite for residents to continue to spend time with their loved ones for the autumn and winter seasons in addition to the outdoor visiting that has been on offer for those able for many months.

Balancing resident wellbeing and safety is at the forefront of Barchester Healthcare’s thinking and they understand how important it is for residents and their family and friends to be able to spend time together in the safest way possible.

There has been much careful planning and preparation for this moment by Barchester Healthcare, who run Seaview care home. It was welcome news for their residents and family and friends as we enter the colder season meaning catch-ups can continue to take place, instead of, or in addition to, outdoor visiting already offered for those able.

National Tea Day

We made our own entertainment for National Tea Day. General Manager, Wendy McGowan, brought here cello in to entertain residents and then went round to rooms and played requests for residents

,

Musical Magic

Addie Harper, a local musician, and some of his friends came to Seaview to entertain residents with their traditional Scottish music. As you can see, all residents had a great time.

Pensioner's Treat

Seaview residents attended the annual Pensioner’s Treat at the Wick Assembly Rooms on Wednesday 15th January. This is an event set up for all local seniors to attend. A great evening was had by all.

Lunch Out at John O’Groats Hotel

A group of resident went out for afternoon tea to the John O’Groats Hotel. They were treated to a traditional afternoon tea and all came back with a doggy bag. They had a good old sing song and a chat about their memories of John O’Groats from years gone by. They look forward to a return trip in the spring

Box of Goodies

Box of Goodies

Residents' community spirit was at its best when Wick's Poundland donated a box of goodies to Seaview. The Residents were delighted when we received this box full of crisps, chocolate bars, biscuits and chocolate biscuits!

Customers had been donating into a box in the store whilst they were doing their shopping, with all donations being divided between Seaview and two other care homes in Wick.
