Activities at Seaview House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.
Mandy Wilson
Mandy has worked for Barchester since 1998. At first as a carer and then in 2004 as the activities coordinator for Seaview. She is passionate about helping people who live at Seaview get the very best out of their day and actively promotes the resident’s monthly committee.

Life at Seaview House Care Home
All aboard - V&A Dundee Ocean Liners
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Seaview House were treated to a photographic tour and talk about the era of ocean travel by V&A Dundee Curator, Charlotte Hale. The presentation forms part of a series of six talks and virtual tours that V&A Dundee is hosting for Barchester Healthcare’s care homes and private hospitals across the UK.
V&A Dundee is Scotland’s design museum, it showcases Scotland’s outstanding design achievements and features world-class exhibitions alongside the permanent Scottish Design Galleries, and a changing programme of commissions, events and activities.
Celebrating Her Majesty's birthday
To celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 95th birthday and International Tea Day we hosted a tea party with a ‘special guest’. Our guest spent time with staff and residents before enjoying an afternoon tea. She was particularly impressed with the birthday cake we had made for her special day.
Home welcome back hairdresser!
The residents of Seaview House were delighted to welcome hairdresser Ishbel back after over a year. We’ve made do but nothing beats her talent. Ishbel says it’ll take her a couple weeks to see everyone but so far she’s worked wonders.
Bus Trip
Seaview residents went out on the bus; tirst time since March 2020. We visited the town, the harbour and all of the residents' favourite places.
Space Day
April 12th was International Day of Human Space Flight. To celebrate, we watched videos of the moon landing and took a virtual trip to the International Space Station with our VR headset.
To crown the day off, we named a star: 'Seaview Aurora', because, even in this most difficult of years, we have shone through the darkness.
Carer celebrates 20-years long service
Staff at Seaview celebrated colleague, Sara’s long service award. Sara has celebrated 20 years as a carer at the home. She was also awarded carer of the year at our annual awards ceremony at Seaview. She is a passionate and dedicated key member of our team. Congratulations Sara - here’s to the next 20 years!
