Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home

American Independence Day
Here at Rose Lodge, we celebrated American Independence Day with entertainment by Zac! Zac played such delightful songs on his saxophone at our American themed Party. Zac also went round residents rooms and played for them so everyone was involved.
Residents also enjoyed a scrumptious themed lunch of hot dogs and burgers with fries. A classic American meal with beautiful decorations. It was a wonderful day that everyone enjoyed. In the afternoon residents enjoyed a themed crossword and joined in with activity books - all about Independence day.

Blue Light Break
We welcome all blue light services such as the police, firefighters, and paramedics, to pop in at any time of the day or night to take a break and pick up a hot beverage and scrumptious treats from our café we have freshly baked cakes every day.
We thoroughly enjoy welcoming these amazing men and women into our home for a much deserved break. These special members of the community do so much for our residents at Rose Lodge and we feel it is very important to offer them a warm, safe space to relax while on break or filling in paperwork.
We look forward to welcoming all Emergency Services to Rose Lodge

Virtual trip to Eden Project
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time exploring the Eden Project virtually - an educational charity and visitor attraction based in Cornwall, featuring sprawling outdoor gardens and breathtaking biomes that house the largest indoor rainforest in the world.
During the session, residents who joined were reconnected with nature through their senses, memories and stories. A big thank you to the community team at the Eden Project for the wonderful event.

Get Barchester Moving!
We got moving and put the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’ with amazing activities, parachute games, garden strolls and bean bag to raise money for Baychester’s Charitable Foundation.
Last year, the Foundation achieved a donation milestone of £225,000 which enabled the charity to provide vital help to a staggering 160 small groups and charities, plus 87 individuals, in one year alone.
We had the most wonderful time fundraising and were thrilled to be joined by family, friends and local community members. Every time the ball dropped each game player asked a question from the ball which made it even more interesting, things like what’s your favourite colour, what was your favourite toy....

Pet therapy with Tiger
We love our pet therapy visits here at Rose Lodge with our four-legged friend, Tiger. The visits spark beautiful memories of past pets and the companionship they provided.
Twice a month Tizzy brings her therapy dog, Tiger into meet and greet the residents, listen to their own pet stories and share Tigers latest adventures. These delightful visits provide relaxation and an opportunity to natter and share important life stories.
Maria said, "I had a Golden Labrador called Jock. I adored him ever so much". Our residents look forward to giving tiger his treat

Visit to Wisbech Park
Staff and residents had a fantastic time visiting Wisbech Park Pavilion where they all enjoyed the first glimpse of this month’s warmer weather coming in.
Residents and staff had a brilliant time taking a stroll around the park and enjoying tea, coffee and cake from the on-site café.
Activities Co-ordinator, Jane said: “We absolutely love being able to take our residents out and about to visit the park pavilion, it makes us so happy to be able to access venues like this. It has been a fantastic day and we’ve all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.”
Elizabeth, resident at Rose Lodge said: “The Park was just a short ride in the mini bus and was such a lovely place to enjoy our drinks and just watch the world go by”
