Activities at Park View Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Park View Care Home
Fireworks Night
All residents enjoyed fireworks in the car park of the home.
We also had hot chocolate, hot baileys, hot dogs and burgers! We all wrapped up cosy and enjoyed watching all the fireworks along with residents' families and friends.
Persian Tabby Kittens visit our residents
Today we had kitten therapy in park view! 3 new Persian tabby kittens came to visit our residents.
All the residents got to enjoy seeing them, residents that are bedbound especially enjoyed the kittens on the bed,
They see all 108 residents that are in the home. Resident love a visit from animals.
Trip to Butlins
Today Renata, the general manager, along with our activities team, care practitioner, nurses and carers are on a 5 day trip with the residents to Butlins!
The residents can't wait and were all singing "We're all going on a summer holiday".
That's them getting ready to leave - we can't wait to show all the fab pictures and tell all about our little holiday!
GSF Care homes Training Programme
6 years ago we began to participate in GSF care homes training programme. The Programme assists in supporting elderly residents as they near the end of their lives. We are very proud to be accredited. We submitted an e-portfolio in April this year, we embedded the learning into our practice, our staff are competent and confident in supporting our residents as they approach the end of their lives.
We received a platinum accreditation!
Completing this programme has helped us to avoid hospital admissions during end of life care, and we have been able to work closely with our GP and end of life facilitator to reduce hospital admission and ensure that residents are able to spend their last days in a place of their preference, I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff who have made this possible.
Watching The Cricket
This week we watched the Essex vs Surrey cricket match at our local grounds. We were delighted to be supported by the grounds team to get our residents into great positions to enjoy the match.
Sports, cultural and local attraction outings are a key part of our life enrichment programme.
Leisure Centre Visit
It has been an active week at Park View with a visit to Babbington Leisure Centre for some very competitive games of badminton and table tennis.
We are led by our residents when designing our activity planners and try to include a range of active, social and fun activities.
