Activities at Park View Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Park View Care Home

Park View at Butlins
Park view went to Butlins for the week for the second year in a row.
We had 10 staff and 10 residents that went on holiday for the week.
They all had a fantastic time and we visited Brighton for the day. We went bowling, went on train rides, visited the arcades and lots more.
Some of the residents' family came for the day to visit and spend a fun day out with their loved ones.
We can't wait to do this again next year!

Doris celebrates turning 100!
Our beautiful Doris celebrated her 100th birthday.
She had a big celebration party at Parkview were all her family and friends came to enjoy some food and drinks. Doris loved her caked and was spoilt with lots of gifts.
Doris also had a dance school that come and danced for her. Doris had a wonderful time and the best 100th birthday!

We're Live on Enable!
Parkview went live on enable, today we celebrated our hard work and great achievement in the home, I would like to say a massive thank you to our implementation Team at Park view for all the hard work in transcribing, along with celebrating enable we had pudding club so everyone could celebrate with a cuppa tea and cake.

A trip to watch Abba
On Saturday our administrator Penny took William to the 02 to watch Abba- Mamma Mia, we had a sit down dinner and was up dancing the whole time, Bill had his Abba outfit on and his flashing hat and danced the night away.
On route to the 02 the road was closed so the only way over was the cable car across London, the cable car reach the height of 90metres.
Its just under 300ft, it’s the highest observation point over the river Thames,
Bill loved getting on this and seeing the sights of London, and was telling Penny what he could see the 02, HSBC and all building of London that he knew,
We of course had to get them back and bill was excited when Abba finished to go back on them!

Intergenerational Experiences
At Park View we know that intergenerational activity is hugely beneficial to all involved as it encourages communication and social skills. Intergenerational contact also helps to develop language and reading confidence through shared activities, as well as increasing confidence and self-esteem. Lastly it helps children to develop empathy, care, and kindness, helping them to understand and talk more positively about ageing and older people.
This sort of activity is made possible through our close links with local schools, colleges and nurseries. Intergenerational activities are a cornerstone of our life enrichment program.

Culture Day
As Park View has many cultures through our residents, relatives and staff we thought it would be great to hold a culture party.
We had 4 themed tents:
British
African/Caribbean
Asian
Eastern European
All the staff cooked and all relatives and residents came to enjoy the food. We had a DJ and singer to provide entertainment and a candy floss machine and table top games.
We came together to celebrate, experience and embrace different cultures with cultural dress, discussions about history, incredible food, wonderful music, traditional dance, beautiful arts and beliefs.
Our cultural traditions, language and experiences are the foundations upon which we build our identity. Through promoting this in our home we'll have a positive impact on our own health and well-being as well as the people we care for.
