Activities at Oak Grange Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

We had a lot of fun reminiscing about visiting the sweet shop as children and hoping to get a few favourite sweets with our ration tickets.

We had a visit from a snowy owl recently; everyone was able to say hello to him and stroke him. He was very calm and patient.

Vera Lynn's 100th Birthday Celebrations

Vera Lynn's 100th Birthday Celebrations

To celebrate Vera Lynn turning 100, we had musical entertainment in the morning with Sheena & Alan Beckett, where we made a video of us all singing 'We’ll Meet Again' & 'Happy Birthday' that was sent to Dame Vera.

We also enjoyed a spectacular cake which was decorated with a picture of the beautiful lady herself.

In the afternoon, there was 1940s-themed quiz, music and a sweet shop - plus much more!

Shrove Tuesday

We had lots of fun flipping pancakes on Shrove Tuesday and, most importantly, eating them!
