Activities at North Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Claire Liddy

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Claire, and I am Lead Activities Coordinator at North Park. I have 15 years’ experience in the role, three years at North Park and absolutely love my job. I like to involve the local community in events within the home, so we have connections with local churches, schools and community groups. We have a PAT dog that visits weekly, so our residents can enjoy pet therapy, and lots of external entertainers, who come into the home regularly as well; in addition to fairs, monthly coffee morning and so much more.

Life at North Park Care Home

Christmas party

What an amazing afternoon and evening we have had at North Park for our residents Christmas party.  Staff pulled out all the stops to provide fun, laughter and frivolity throughout as well as a delicious festive buffet and nibbles.

Gift received from Morrisons

North Park Care Centre would like to say thank you to Morrisons  for the beautiful hamper for staff and the cards and gifts for residents. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Birthday celebrations

One of our lovely residents became a little emotional this afternoon when we stopped our quiz and presented her with a beautiful birthday cake as we celebrated her birthday.  Happy birthday from all at North Park!

Supper club

Tonights Supper Club was all about the 1950's. Residents were read passages from a book, shared experiences,  tasted  authentic sweeties and sandwiches of the time. A great evening of fun stories and memories and everyone is looking forward to the next club meeting.

Christmas Day

Residents had a lovely Christmas Day when they woke up to find Santa had been and left bulging stockings at the end of their beds. After enjoying a festive breakfast staff gave out their gifts before enjoying a lavish, traditional Christmas dinner. Fun and games ensued during the afternoon after raising a glass to toast the Queen at the end of speech. A fun and festive day was had by all.

Magic of the Nutcracker

We experienced the magic of the Nutcracker with a special interactive workshop led by English National Ballet Associate Artists.

Our residents were able to take a magical journey thorough Edwardian London and to learn more about the enchanted Nutcracker characters: Clara, the Mouse King, and her valiant Nutcracker doll.

The session included a chair-based dance workshop, clips of the ballet on stage and a Christmas carol sing-along, truly enjoyed by all.
