Activities at The Manor Care Home

Our activities staff are here 7 days a week and are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we care for in a group or individual basis. From trips to garden centres, the theatre, and flower shows to personal shopping and attending family events. We also love organising Christmas fairs, our famous classic car show, musicians, entertainment, and pizza and pint evenings. The team encourage families to visit and work closely with our volunteers to ensure that our residents social care is a priority, so that they have a fun filled and enriched stay whilst here at The Manor.

Marc Chidgey

Life Enrichment Lead

I have worked at The Manor since 2012, starting out as a kitchen assistant, where I replenished drinks and snacks and assisted in serving meals in communal areas. During this time, outside of the kitchen, I enjoyed meeting residents and took pleasure in seeing their engagement during activities. My interest in resident activities was evident, and I was offered the opportunity to transfer to the activities team.

I love to spend time with residents. I enjoy hearing their stories and finding out what activities interest them. I aim to keep them as active as possible, and my top priority is to instill fun and laughter at The Manor.

Employee of the Month - July

Employee of the Month - July

Sue from activities received Employee of the Month for July and we would like to celebrate this. Sue is always happy and smiling, bringing in cakes and doughnuts for everyone. Sue has created a mini garden in the home that residents really enjoy, which they are currently growing their own fruit and veg in. Sue was nominated by 5 residents and relatives and 3 staff members.

Yoga Sessions

Yoga Sessions

On the 4th August, residents enjoyed some stimulating yoga in gardens. It was great for them to get out into the sun and get some exercise.

Classic Car Show

Classic Car Show

Our Classic Car Show was a fantastic event where we raised over £600 that will be spent on our residents. It was a brilliant day and we had a good turnout, with stalls, jazz bands and some beautiful classic cars.
