The Manor Care Home in Taunton
Taunton’s The Manor is a modern, purpose-built care home that provides first-class 24-hour nursing and residential care. We offer support to older people, alongside diagnostic treatment and rehabilitative services to a range of younger adults with complex care needs. For example, we support people with tracheostomies who may require mechanical ventilation due to spinal injury, people with neurological conditions, people with sensory impairments, and people with physical disabilities.
The treatment we provide is delivered using care plans tailored to each individual and are regularly reviewed. We liaise with local health services to ensure that the best therapies are available to the people we support, and offer a wide and very popular range of activities.
As with all Barchester homes, we pride ourselves on having high standards of cooking, hospitality and housekeeping. The home is situated in beautiful grounds on the edge of the pretty market town of Taunton. It has easy access to a range of shops, interesting events and strong transport links.
Staff here at The Manor are genuinely committed to supporting residents and their families. We are always happy to offer advice and welcome visitors. Please feel free to ring us or call in personally to see our beautiful home for yourself.

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.
Hi, my name is Carla and I am the General Manager here at The Manor. Welcome to our website!
I started my nursing career in the NHS. I have years of experience in cardiology, intensive care and A&E nursing. I left the NHS to join the private sector, exploring forensic nursing and other independent care providers. Before joining Barchester, I was the clinical manager for a large independent hospital. My passion to provide high standards of quality care is always at the forefront of what I do.
Barchester’s reputation for providing the highest quality care complements my commitment to provide compassionate and person-centred care. I look forward to leading and empowering a team dedicated to learning and improving the quality of life for our residents. I am also looking forward to developing good working relationships with relatives, commissioning bodies and the CQC.
My last two posts have been in senior management of nursing services. Both of these services were officially rated as 'Inadequate' by the CQC. Under my leadership and management, they both performed a complete turnaround and are now proudly rated as 'Good'.Get in touch Meet my team
