Activities at The Manor Care Home
Our activities staff are here 7 days a week and are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we care for in a group or individual basis. From trips to garden centres, the theatre, and flower shows to personal shopping and attending family events. We also love organising Christmas fairs, our famous classic car show, musicians, entertainment, and pizza and pint evenings. The team encourage families to visit and work closely with our volunteers to ensure that our residents social care is a priority, so that they have a fun filled and enriched stay whilst here at The Manor.
Marc Chidgey
I have worked at The Manor since 2012, starting out as a kitchen assistant, where I replenished drinks and snacks and assisted in serving meals in communal areas. During this time, outside of the kitchen, I enjoyed meeting residents and took pleasure in seeing their engagement during activities. My interest in resident activities was evident, and I was offered the opportunity to transfer to the activities team.
I love to spend time with residents. I enjoy hearing their stories and finding out what activities interest them. I aim to keep them as active as possible, and my top priority is to instill fun and laughter at The Manor.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at The Manor Care Home
Bastille Day
We celebrated Bastille Day here at The Manor with lots of French food, which was followed by cheese and wine tasting.
Live Entertainment
Residents at The Manor had a fun morning singing along with entertainer, Justin. General Manager, Sarah Jennings, even joined in with the fun!

Gardening in the sun
With the recent beautiful weather, we have been spending lots of time in the garden. Here are some of our green-fingered residents tending to their raised beds.
Open Day
We hosted a classic car show during our open day. The weather was fantastic and everybody enjoyed the day.
Dove House
Following a conversation between our maintenance team and a relative's husband regarding pigeons and doves, a resident's husband asked if he could make a dove house for us. We supplied the wood the finished product can be seen above.
