Activities at Lynde House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators get a real buzz off their work here as enthusiasm is essential for the role. We decorate and celebrate for all the big annual events, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothering Sunday and much more. There are also regular fixtures in our activities programme, including bingo, a sherry morning and quizzes, that are always well-attended. There's also an International Day that we hold to celebrate the wonderful ethnic diversity of our staff, where members of our team and their families give up their time to showcase their national costumes, dances and songs. Of course, we also have activities and services tailored to those residents who prefer the quiet life, such manicures or simply a friendly chat and a cup of tea. We always do our best to learn about residents' hobbies and interests and try to arrange our activities programme around their individual likes and dislikes.

Floristry masterclass with Blooming Haus

Our home was full of colour and scent yesterday as residents spent time creating a beautiful floral masterpiece to enter the Blooming Barchester competition in partnership with Blooming Haus of Chelsea following their amazing virtual flower arranging masterclass on Zoom.

Residents and staff all had a wonderful time decorating and working on our arrangement and we are happy to say we were impressed with our skills in applying all the tips and ideas learnt during the class to make a colourful floral design.

Residents enjoy extra special VE day party!

Residents were treated to a special party to celebrate VE Day thanks to innovative technology to bring together Lynde House and The Royal Garden Hotel in Sussex, as part of a very special Afternoon Tea Event. In support of this theme, several retro-style cakes were made by seven-year-old junior baker Mia Dando and seasoned chefs John Williams MBE, Executive Chef of The Ritz Hotel and TV personality and award-winning chef, Brian Turner CBE. Delivered for the party they all tasted as good as they looked!

We are out & about in our mini bus!

Residents are delighted to be back out and about! Our mini bus is now back out on weekly trips, to places residents want to visit, Twickenham Riverside was the perfect stop. On Friday, in the sunshine, the park was an instant hit when little ducklings came up to greet us

Enjoying the sunshine!

We took our morning 'cuppa & chat' outside this week to enjoy a review of the news with George. Conversation is led by residents and in the sunshine we felt very positive, the garden is looking so pretty with the blossom and freshly mown grass, spring is finally here
