Activities at Lynde House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators get a real buzz off their work here as enthusiasm is essential for the role. We decorate and celebrate for all the big annual events, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothering Sunday and much more. There are also regular fixtures in our activities programme, including bingo, a sherry morning and quizzes, that are always well-attended. There's also an International Day that we hold to celebrate the wonderful ethnic diversity of our staff, where members of our team and their families give up their time to showcase their national costumes, dances and songs. Of course, we also have activities and services tailored to those residents who prefer the quiet life, such manicures or simply a friendly chat and a cup of tea. We always do our best to learn about residents' hobbies and interests and try to arrange our activities programme around their individual likes and dislikes.

Life at Lynde House Care Home

Grace celebrates her 102nd birthday!

Grace celebrated her 102nd birthday this week - the day was marked by family visits and a beautiful cake provided by her family! Grace was an avid dancer & loved to cha-cha while her daughter Sue played the piano, having made clothes and knitted for her children she is now looking forward to a more relaxed way to renew her wardrobe with a trip clothes shopping, Congratulations Grace, we all hope you enjoyed your special day

Residents visit V&A Dundee

As part of our continued partnership with V&A Dundee, our residents enjoyed a "Creating V&A Dundee" virtual talk.

Everyone at the home had the opportunity to discover the fascinating story behind the origins of V&A Dundee Scotland’s design museum and the latest addition to the country’s list of instantly recognisable buildings.

They heard how the history of the city and site inspired the architect to draw from a range of unusual sources to create a thoroughly modern museum that is as intriguing as it is complex. The presentation showed incredible images of the entire design and construction process – from initial concept to opening celebration – as well as sharing a few of the building’s lesser-known secrets! It was a testament to the skills and creativity of all of those who brought V&A Dundee to life.

Pamper time!

Can you think of a better way to relax than with a lovely hand massage and manicure? Residents enjoy regular one to one time with the team to chat, reminisce, read or just have a little pampering.
