Activities at Lynde House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators get a real buzz off their work here as enthusiasm is essential for the role. We decorate and celebrate for all the big annual events, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothering Sunday and much more. There are also regular fixtures in our activities programme, including bingo, a sherry morning and quizzes, that are always well-attended. There's also an International Day that we hold to celebrate the wonderful ethnic diversity of our staff, where members of our team and their families give up their time to showcase their national costumes, dances and songs. Of course, we also have activities and services tailored to those residents who prefer the quiet life, such manicures or simply a friendly chat and a cup of tea. We always do our best to learn about residents' hobbies and interests and try to arrange our activities programme around their individual likes and dislikes.

Autumn Art

Gorgeous colours in our garden this autumn, with our resident's imagination and love for the art it is even better when it comes to the many ways to connect with the nature outside. Everyone was so excited and impatient to finish their very own piece of art.
Lynde House looks beautiful with the boards on display around the home for us all to enjoy

Making our own pasta!

This week we celebrated world pasta day and made fresh pasta in the colours of Italy! Our dining host joined in with residents as the dining room became quite dusted with flour! It was great fun and the finished pasta did look colourful, interesting taste too!

Here at Lynde House residents enjoy weekly baking and cookery preparation activities choosing what they would like to prepare, there is always much laughter and conversation about their kitchen disasters from the past!

Wedding Celebrations!

Wedding celebrations for Elsie today as she proudly watched her son, Paul, marry Helen at York House Registry Office in Twickenham on our iPad from the comfort and safety of her room. With a glass of bubbly in hand we watched the ceremony with Elsie and wished the happy couple a long and happy marriage.

These are unprecedented times and we are truly grateful we have the technology at Lynde House to ensure residents can enjoy seeing and talking to their loved ones regularly, especially on occasions like this. A toast to the happy couple!
