Activities at Longueville Court Care Home

Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.

The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.

The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.

Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Memory Café Activities

This afternoon at our Monthly Memory Cafe we had fun playing various games from Connect 4 to Cards. The aqua paints and jigsaws were out, and our lady residents looked through some of the beautiful donated jewellery which brought back memories of dances and weddings they'd attended.

Flower Arranging for the Senses

Thank you to our local Coop who donated these beautiful flowers to us. Our ladies love flower arranging, as some of them used to do the local church displays. As you can see from the results, the display is absolutely breathtaking.

Thank you ladies for this wonderful display of colour and the aroma they're giving off in the dining room.

Memory Lane Garden Makeover

Some of you may know we won a competition for a free makeover at our home. And Wow…. Look at the result!

What can we say, its wonderful, a big Thank You to Tesco. These guys and gals gave up their own time to transform our Memory Lane garden. From weeding, potting and painting they did it all.

We had 16 volunteers as far away as Halifax, who were supposed to be here from 9-1. However, we bribed them with sandwiches and constant drinks and they stayed till gone 3pm to get it all finished.

The bulbs were donated from Morrisons Lincoln Rd, and the gorgeous flowers were generously donated by Brierley & Kids our local nursery in Orton Longueville's lay-by.

THANK YOU EVERYONE that helped make today a very special day, you will make our residents day when they see the transformation in the garden.

It’s absolutely breathtaking and the pictures don’t give it justice

Local Garden Centre Donation

A huge THANK YOU to Brierley&Kids the Garden Centre that is on the lay-by in Orton Longueville. I was telling Matty about our Tesco makeover that we won, which is happening tomorrow morning and he donated all these beautiful flowers to our Memory Lane dementia garden.

What a wonderful donation, our garden is going to look fab tomorrow!

Cookies Making Workshop

Our number one superstore Morrisons invited us to a free cookie decorating workshop, in their new community hub. Natasha & Jade (from Morrisons) helped our residents with ideas for their giant cookies. It was messy project with the icing but such good FUN, they also offered us free refreshments that went down well with our arty creations. These cookies were huge, so we took them back for other residents and staff to enjoy later on with a cuppa. Amazing afternoon with loads of belly laughs. Thank you Morrisons, you do so much for the community, especially our home.
