Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home

Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.

Life at Hilderstone Hall Care Home

Live musical performance

Here at Hilderstone Hall we do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment as part of the homes lifestyle enrichment programme and resident centred activities.

We welcomed back ‘Elvis’ for an afternoon of song as he performed a selection of classic hits including, Jail House Rock and Hound Dog which residents sang, and clapped along to before enjoying a refreshing cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake.

The 'Ukulele Man'

Residents at Hilderstone Hall were delighted to welcome Tim, ‘Ukulele Man’ to the home for a live performance. Everyone enjoys their music and live entertainers. Coral Brown, Deputy Manager said: “It was brilliant to see the residents light up when the music started and to see and hear them singing along to the songs they knew!”

St Patrick's Day

We celebrated St Patrick’s Day in recognition of the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland. The home was decorated with shamrocks and we all enjoyed exploring the Irish culture through a variety of themed activities.

Our residents marked the day by making shamrock decorations; learning some Irish words and phrases whilst listening to Irish music. Our talented chef prepared a fantastic spread of traditional Irish dishes for all to enjoy, all washed down with Guinness and Irish whiskey. Our residents had a brilliant day today.

The King is in the building!

Our home was transformed into Graceland as we welcomed the ‘King’ for an afternoon of song and dance with a popular entertainer.

It is estimated that Elvis has sold over one billion records worldwide so to honour the undisputed King of Rock & Roll, we all enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of music, fun and dancing.

Our residents found out some interesting facts about Elvis that they haven’t heard before, and everyone had a wonderful time.

Love is in the air!

Love was in the air at Hilderstone Hall as residents and staff celebrated Valentine’s Day. Our home was filled with flowers, cards, balloons and decorations as we celebrated the day of love in style with sweet treats and gifts.

We marked the day by having a conversation about romantic moments in people’s lives and some live entertainment.  Our residents had the opportunity to taste delicious themed sweet and savoury treats, prepared by our talented chef, whilst listening to all-time favourite love songs.

It was a lovely day and it was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get involved with the day’s festivities.

Daisy was joined by relatives as she received a telegram from the King in recognition of her landmark birthday. Daisy also enjoyed a special birthday cake made by the home’s hospitality team.
