Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home

Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.

Life at Hilderstone Hall Care Home

Entertainment with Britt

We welcomed back a firm favourite to Hilderstone Hall in the form of our musical entertainer Britt who serenaded our residents with a mixture of country and western and other popular musical numbers. One of our residents Maureen particularly enjoyed this as she was previously a music teacher. Maureen herself alongside her daughter has entertained the residents here at Hilderstone with her piano skills.

Long-standing Resident Birthday

We celebrated Peter’s birthday this month along with many other residents here at Hilderstone Hall. Our fabulous chef made sure that everybody’s birthday was extra special by making individual cakes for each resident. Peter celebrated his birthday with family members who enjoyed sharing the delights of chef Rodney.

Halloween Craft afternoon

The residents here at Hilderstone Hall spent the afternoon taking part in Halloween crafts. This incorporated sensory potato marking, painting and pumpkin decorating. Each of the resident’s creations were used to decorate our Halloween Party which was held in the afternoon in the communal lounge. Here they enjoyed a spot of pumpkin boules and sensory ‘touch and feel’ trick or treat boxes where residents had to guess whether they would have a trick or a treat, which was a delightful surprise to all!

Fradswell Community luncheon

Our residents here at Hilderstone Hall have continued to engage with the local community by joining the monthly luncheon club arranged by and held at Fradswell community hub.

We joined the many local parish members and their families for an afternoon which included a fabulous two course lunch mouth-watering fish and chips with a side of garden peas followed by a  fruit flan and diary ice cream. The luncheon was also accompanied by a local musician playing well known memorable tunes form the past on the piano.

Baking Club

The residents here at Hilderstone Hall have partaken in a spot of baking recently. We used many of our senses as well as memory and reading skills  to make and prepare a batch of yummy savoury  crumbly cheese scones.

The residents enjoyed rolling, mixing and cutting the savoury mixture in preparation for our talented chef to bake in the ovens for us to enjoy!

Stone Community Hub

We would like to say a massive thank you from Hilderstone Hall to everyone at The Stone Community Hub for welcoming us so openly today with a big smile, tea & biscuits. We have been collecting food items over the last few weeks to donate to the local food bank and today with a few of the residents we have presented them and had an insight into the wonderful work that goes on there by truly lovely people.
