Activities at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Hampton Grove Care Home

Making Wishes Come True

Hampton Grove celebrated a 103rd birthday today - the wonderful Charlotte.

Charlotte loves watching cars pass by the home and when asked what she wanted for her special day, Charlotte replied 'I like fast cars'!

Activities leader Lisa May contacted Junction17 Cars, to see if they could make this wish come true for her.

Junction 17 couldn't of been more obliging and brought along a BMW sports car.

Charlotte was over the moon today as they took her for a spin around Yaxley with her son beside her.

Afterwards we celebrated with cake before finishing off the day with entertainment and party food joined by all our residents.

When asked Charlotte had she enjoyed her day, Charlotte replied 'I'm speechless thank you'.

Dementia Action Week

During Dementia Action Week this week, residents spent time with some very special pets from Michelle's Animal Petting Party.

Animal therapy can help reduce the effects of dementia—anxiety, agitation, irritability, depression, and loneliness. By their friendliness and non-threatening way, pets can help a dementia patient be more interactive, when sometimes they are not able to do so in social settings with other adults.

Garden centre visit!!

Today we visited Nottcuts Garden Centre and enjoyed wandering round checking out all the spring and summer plants.

Residents enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee or tea with cakes and chatting with friends.

Right Royal Bash

Residents from Hampton Grove celebrated in style today watching King Charles coronation.

So the residents and staff didn't miss any of the celebrations, we showed the event on a screen whilst having lunch with a picnic and a glass of sherry and home made cakes made by one of our volunteers.

Following the coronation family members put on a little sing along for all to join in.

Great afternoon had by all.

Trip Out!!

We made the most of the sunny weather and went to Ferry Meadows. We stopped off at the café for cups of tea before enjoying a picnic in the sunshine. We then went for a leisurely stroll around Ferry Meadows and looked around their gift shop
