Activities at Hall Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Macmillan Coffee Morning Fund Raiser

In recognition of Macmillan’s Coffee Morning, we hosted our very own event for friends, families and community members to raise funds for the charity. The reception area was specially decorated for the occasion, our talented chefs Sarah and Tom prepared a variety of cakes, cupcakes and delicious treats following Macmillan Cancer Support’s recipes and we all got involved in fun-filled games. We all had a wonderful day raising funds for this lovely cause and raised £32.75p

International Housekeeping Week

Staff and residents thanks the hlouse keeping team for their hard work and dedication.  Every year during the second full week of September (12th-18th in 2021), International Housekeepers and Environmental Services Week is a week dedicated to recognizing the efforts of hard-working.  All housekeepers were presented with flowers and certificates

Wine Not?

We had a lovely time joining Hospitality Manager, Christophe Noel and special guests Lee Isaacs DipWSET and Nick Parker from Unity Wines and Spirits – as they introduced us to wine tasting techniques, the history of wine and wine making, as well as consumer attitudes.

Our residents had the opportunity to try a variety of wines from sparkling and white to rose and red, alongside a selection of delicious treats.

It was a wonderful experience, enjoyed by all.

Mexican Independence Day

Hall Park had a fun filled day celebrating Mexican Independence Day, the residents enjoyed a quiz, dancing to Mexican themed songs like the Mexican Hat Dance and tasting some Mexican food cooked by our lovely kitchen staff.

Everyone including the staff got great pleasure in hitting the  Piñata and enjoyed eating the sweets that eventually fell out of the piñata!

Clinical lead raises funds for charity

Divisional Clinical Lead Nurse at Hall Park in Bulwell put the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’ with a charity trek to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society on Trek26 2021.

Tracy Elmer, Divisional Clinical Lead Nurse graduated in 1999 as a Registered General Nurse from Birmingham University.  Tracy embarked on the epic 26 mile trek from Penrith in August and raised a grand total of £665.00 for the charity she is very passionate about and which is very dear to her heart.

Catherine Campbell, Operations Manager at Hall Park said: “Everyone at Barchester North Division and at Hall Park care home was keen to show Tracy support on her Trek, especially the residents who enjoyed hearing all about the experience. Trek26 is a great cause that helps many people living with Alzheimer’s which is a cause very close to the hearts of all our staff and residents.  We are really proud of Tracy who completed the Trek in an impressive time of just 9 hours and 10 minutes and of course, to have been able to raise this money. Thank you to everyone who donated!”

Last night of the Proms

We celebrated Last Night of the Proms virtually with members of English National Ballet’s Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Music Director Gavin Sutherland.

We listened and danced along as members of the orchestra took us on a magical, musical journey. English National Ballet Philharmonic is made up of many of the country’s top musicians, and boasts considerable experience in all forms of music-making. With insights and anecdotes into what it takes to conduct an orchestra for a world-class ballet company, this special concert got our feet tapping, arms waving and hearts singing!

It was a wonderful experience, enjoyed by all.
