Activities at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Marie Joined Hafan Y Coed in February as the Lead Activities Coordinator. Marie has come from a Sales and Marketing background but has always had an interest in working in the care sector. Marie will lead the activities team and have a lot of input in the day to day organising and planning of events. Marie said “ I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to making a difference to the life enrichment for the residents. I like to make people happy and think my bubbly personality will brighten the residents day. I have a love for singing and will definitely be heard around the home for sure! I hope our new activities team will make a huge difference to the day to day lives of the residents at Hafan y Coed

Operation Christmas Child Donations

Residents at Hafan-Y-Coed are passionate about giving back and this year we have decided to work with the Tabernacle Chapel in Llanelli with their Operation Christmas Child appeal. We have been busy filling shoe boxes with toiletries, clothing items and toys and these will be distributed to children living in poverty. We want to thank everyone who has kindly donated items to us it means so much to everyone involved.

Pub Crawl!

Not quite a pub crawl but residents are really enjoying weekly visits to local pubs for drinks and lunch.  This time we visited Sessile Oak in Llanelli and enjoyed such a tasty meal.  We are so fortunate to have great local pubs who always welcome us with such warm hospitality.

New Fitness Class

I Name That Tune in..........

I name that tune in...... what a great afternoon the residents had sat with a beverage naming the tune. Sue from our activities team got everyone thinking with a few tricky ones as well as some that were instantly recognisable. There were some joint efforts with one person naming the tune and another the artist!
