Meet the team
From nurses and carers to chefs and housekeepers, staff in our home are here to deliver high quality care and services to those we support. Check below to meet some of the friendly faces you are likely to see when visiting our home:
Hi, my name is Matthew and I am the General Manager here at Hafan-Y-Coed. Welcome to the website!
I had previously been the Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead at Hafan-Y-Coed, since I joined the team in January 2016
After graduating from Swansea University with a Nursing degree, I spent the early years of my career in the A&E department at Morriston Hospital, where I gained the majority of my clinical expertise. I subsequently worked for 3 years in Saudi Arabia, where I was employed by BAE Systems as a Nurse Practitioner. In this post, I served the primary care needs of approximately 2,000 employees and their families at a military base in Riyadh.
At Hafan-Y-Coed, my role is to manage, coordinate and support the team within the home, ensuring that the care we deliver is of the highest standard. Having always been passionate about improving the quality of care available to the elderly and those who are most vulnerable, I have found my current post to be incredibly rewarding.
No day is ever the same at Hafan-Y-Coed, and I continue to enjoy every minute here. I feel privileged to lead such a dedicated and committed team who are constantly seeking new ways to improve the care we provide for those who live at the home.
My Name is Lauren and I am the new Activities Coordinator at Hafan Y Coed. I have been working in Hafan Y Coed for 3 years. I began my time here as a care assistant and then decided to turn my hand to do activities.
I thoroughly enjoy my role and the joy I can bring to our residents. You will always catch me singing and dancing around the home. I organise many outings for the home and always welcome any new suggestions that residents and family’s may have.
Sarah Louise Rolfe
Shankly iscurrently training to be a therapy dog and is already a huge hit with the residents. He is a Chuandong Hound, one of only 30 in the UK, and he belongs to our wonderful Admin Assistant, Louise Rolfe. He is already proving to be a little tinker!
