Meet the Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home team
From nurses and carers to chefs and housekeepers, staff in our home are here to deliver high quality care and services to those we support. Check below to meet some of the friendly faces you are likely to see when visiting our home:
Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am the General Manager here at Hafan-Y-Coed. Welcome to our website!
I am a registered nurse with a wealth of knowledge and experience within the nursing/care home sector. I have worked at Hafan-Y-Coed for over 10 years, starting as a carer.
I then pursued a nursing degree and worked as a nurse on our dementia community, before becoming a Unit Manager. I assumed the post of Deputy Manager in 2019 and I was promoted to General Manager in 2021.
Megan has worked at Hafan-Y-Coed since 2017. With 15 years experience in healthcare, Megan is the Night Team Leader in our residential community. Megan prides herself on providing person centred care and has a fantastic relationship with all the residents.
Kerrie joined Hafan-Y-Coed this year as Head Chef. Kerrie has 25 years experience in the hospitality industry working as a chef, including working in a range of restaurants. In 2012 Kerrie was part of the health and safety training team for the Olympics and Paralympics. Kerrie's passion is providing varied, quality food for everyone to enjoy and the residents are delighted to welcome his tasty menus.
Clare has worked at Hafan-Y-Coed for seven years, with five years as a carer on the Memory Lane Community. Clare has obtained both her Level 2 and 3 QCF in Health and Social Care as well as being the dementia champion for the home.
Clare is very much looking forward to her new role for 2022 as the Activities Coordinator. With lots of new ideas, a love of singing and entertaining along with her wonderful caring approach we are very fortunate to have Clare's experience to lead the team to deliver the Barchester Life Enrichment Programme.
Sue joined Hafan-Y-Coed 8 years ago as a member of the housekeeping team. Sue loves interacting with the residents and has recently moved across to the new role of activities assistant, whilst still keeping the position in housekeeping one day a week. Sue is currently studying for Level 2 in QCF Health and Social Care to advance her knowledge of working with older people. Sue is embracing the new role in activities and brings some great new ideas.
Katie joined as the Hafan-Y-Coed administration assistant working on reception, but has recently been promoted to become the home's administrator. Katie will often be the first point of contact with the home with her friendly voice on the phone.
