Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Glebefields Care Home

Celebrating International Nurses Day
In 2023, the theme for International Nurses’ Day is... Our Nurses. Our Future.
International Nurses’ Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver extraordinary care and support.
Coinciding with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, International Nurses Day, held on Friday 12th May, is a day to celebrate nurses and care staff around the world.
The residents and staff at Glebefields were happy to get involved by hosting a much deserved party for their wonderful nurses and retired hospital nursing friends from around the county.
Nisha Shaji, General Manager at the home, said: “At Glebefields, our nurses and staff are hard-working, dedicated, and passionate about caring for others they continue to work tirelessly, and I’m proud of the professionalism and duty of care they uphold.
All their efforts are focused on delivering the best possible care for our residents, so it’s nice to take this time to show our appreciation in return. It is also lovely to celebrate our residents who were nurses themselves and thank them for all the hard work they did during their careers.”
Bert, who lives at Glebefields, said: “The nurses and care staff here spend so much time and energy looking after us, it’s been lovely to see them enjoy themselves, and I really appreciate all they do for me.”

Coronation BINGO and VE Day Remembered
Glebefields Care Home recently hosted a successful game of Coronation Bingo that brought together both residents and staff. Laughter and friendly competition filled the afternoon, with Barry, Ivy, Cynthia, and Helen among the lucky winners of the fantastic prizes.
The event also featured an informative history lesson by, our activities coordinator Kay, about VE Day - an important day marking the end of World War II in Europe. At Glebefields Care Home, we aim to provide stimulating activities that cater to our resident's interests and needs, promoting their overall well-being and happiness.
From musical performances to educational sessions, we believe in offering a variety of activities to enhance their quality of life.

Saxophonist Sarah Raid
We are pleased to share with you the recent musical performance at Glebefields Care Home, where our residents enjoyed an afternoon of beautiful melodies played by Sarah Raid, a talented saxophonist. During the performance, resident Edith could be seen tapping her feet and nodding along to the music, clearly enjoying Sarah's skills. She played a selection of classic tunes that had everyone tapping their feet and swaying to the rhythm. Our residents indulged in delicious treats while listening to the soothing sounds of the saxophone.

Coronation Cake and Gifts for All
We had a wonderful day at Glebefields Care Home! Our residents watched the live streaming of the King's coronation while wearing their beautifully decorated hats and waving flags. We enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch, and resident Marlene and one of our resident's daughters cut the coronation cake.
To show our appreciation, we gave out coronation sweet bags to our staff and residents. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special day, and we look forward to more celebrations at Glebefields Care Home!

Fiona Harrison Sings for the King!
Coronation celebrations at Glebefields began yesterday with a delightful vintage-themed afternoon tea party. Our residents and their families were joined by Fiona Harrison, who entertained us with her amazing singing and dancing.
We all had a wonderful time reminiscing about the royal family and sharing our love for King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla. And of course, the highlight of the afternoon tea was the quiche, which is not only a favorite of our residents, but also a signature dish of the beloved monarchs.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special event.
