Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hi, I'm Ashitha, and I'm proud to be part of the team at Glebefields Care Home as an Activities Assistant. I joined the Glebefields family in 2023, having earned my master’s degree in electrical engineering from Coventry University. Despite my engineering background, I bring a fresh perspective to enriching the lives of our residents. I enjoy creating an environment where they can have fun, connect with others, and stay mind active. Together with my co-workers, I'm dedicated to making every moment special for our residents, bringing happiness and meaning to their lives. It's an honour to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated team at Glebefields Care Home.

National Dog Day - Dog Show
In celebration of National Dog Day our residents invited furry friends from across the local community to the Glebefields Bank Holiday Monday ‘Dog Show’.
National Dog Day is an annual event to raise awareness of the number of dogs in rescue centres and to encourage people to adopt dogs from shelters and dog homes. Our residents had a brilliant time meeting the various breeds Cockapoos to Pomeranian pooches! We learnt from the owners all about each man’s best friend’s favourite foods and unique characteristics.
Staff and residents watched on as each dog showed their agility on the assault course and paraded around the ‘dog’ walk stopping for cuddles and strokes as they were judged against the listed categories. The winners included…
5 year old Cockapoo ‘Crumble’ – Waggiest Tail
7 year old English springer spaniel ‘Rhia’ – Best Tricks
3 year old Pomeranian ‘Suzie’ – Best Puppy
General Manager, Nisha Shaji said: “Our residents love all animals and especially man’s best friend! We would like to thank everyone who brought their dog along to the show and to the doggies themselves for being so well behaved and a delight to see.”
Wild in the Cotswolds
Everyone filled with joy during their visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. Our residents and staff were able to see animals from all round the world in person, and had the chance to experience a live bird show, meet the camels and cheeky meerkats!
What a fantastic adventure... we'll be back as soon as we can!
Open Day Delights
What a fantastic day our recent Open Day turned out to be. From the delightful Flower Club in the morning to the wonderful music of singer Andy Marsden in the afternoon, it's a day that will stay with us forever. Cynthia, one of our residents, summed up her happiness by saying, "I absolutely loved the morning flowers and the perfect afternoon songs."
Your visits brought our Open Day to life, making it even more special. Your smiles and companionship mean the world to us. Let's keep this wonderful bond going until our next event in October.
Daisy Dog-Days
Pet therapy is simply the best medicine when Daisy visits, she goes to see each and every resident to brighten their day, wagging her tail and offering cuddles. Glebefields care home provides a varied life enrichment programme tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
Employee of the Month – July 2023
Glebefields care home residents and colleagues wish to congratulate Nurse; Devi Balasubramaniyan on receiving Employee of the Month. Devi was nominated by her colleagues, and the residents of Glebefields for being always being kind and devoted to the continued wellbeing of our residents.
Acting Deputy Manager; Benazir said, "Devi is a wonderful nurse, dedicated to the home, our residents and team, she’s always professional and polite. We hope she enjoys her chocolates and spending her gift voucher.
Fiona Brings Musical Delight
Enjoyed a Musical Delight by Fiona Harrison - A Voice in a Million at Glebefields Care Home. Residents, friends and family were treated to a marvellous musical entertainment session by the talented Fiona Harrison. Her performance filled the air with beautiful melodies and tunes, creating a delightful atmosphere for everyone present.
The event was a moment of shared joy and appreciation as Fiona's music resonated with the hearts of our residents. Her performance brought smiles, tapping feet, and a sense of togetherness that truly brightened the day.
