Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Acting Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Snobia and I’m the 'Acting' Activities Lead for all things ‘Life Enrichment’ at Glebefields care home in Drayton, Banbury.

Having worked as a Care Assistant at Glebefields care home for many years, I've provided support to every department overtime and find the provision of life enrichment through activities, events and outings one of the most rewarding.

Being given the opportunity to fulfil our residents wishes, and enrich their everyday lives with activities and experiences that support their continued wellbeing is a privilege.

As an Activities Coordinator, my aim is to ensure all our resident guests continue to explore their independence, getting to know their lives prior to joining us and enabling them to remain fulfilled.

Having Fun at Chacombe Summer Fete

Our residents had a fantastic day out at the summer fête hosted by our lovely sister home, Chacombe Park..It was a joyful afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and sunshine with plenty of stalls to browse, games to play, and live entertainment to enjoy. From sweet treats to music and friendly faces all around, there was something for everyone.

A big thank you to Chacombe Park for such a warm welcome and a wonderfully organised event – our residents came back with smiles and happy memories!

Alfie Gets Us All Boxing Fit

What a wonderful time we had at Glebefields Care Home today with the amazing Alfie from G Fitness!

Our lovely residents enjoyed a relaxing, fun, and laughter-filled exercise session that got everyone moving, smiling, and even giggling! Alfie’s energy, humour, and kindness made it an afternoon to remember. Thank you, Alfie, for bringing joy, fitness, and so many laughs to our home. We can’t wait to see you again soon.

A Wish Come True for Joan!

At Glebefields Care Home, we love making dreams happen for our residents – and yesterday was a truly special moment for our Resident Ambassador, Joan Bailey.

Joan’s biggest wish was to see her favourite staff member and our much-loved former admin assistant, Dinesh.Dinesh came to visit! The reunion was filled with smiles, laughter, and happy memories. Joan was absolutely overjoyed, and it was beautiful to see such a heartfelt connection between them.

Moments like these are what make Glebefields feel like family.

Beers and Fun in the Sun!

What better way to celebrate International Beer Day than in our beautiful garden, enjoying great company and a glass of something refreshing!

Our residents not only enjoyed tasting their favourite beers but also had fun learning a little about the history of this beloved drink – from its ancient beginnings to the many unique styles we enjoy today. It was a day filled with laughter, stories, and a few "cheers" all around.

Employee of the Month – June 2025

A huge congratulations to Simon Sumners, our Head of Maintenance, for being named Employee of the Month!

Simon has been recognized for his unwavering commitment, reliability, and the pride he takes in keeping Glebefields running smoothly and safely. Whether it's fixing something behind the scenes or lending a helping hand with a smile, Simon always goes the extra mile for both residents and staff.

We’re incredibly lucky to have someone as dedicated and hardworking as Simon on our team. Well done and thank you for everything you do.

Yummy Ice Cream Anyone?

With summer in full swing, we couldn't be more excited. Our residents indulged in a variety of delicious flavours and toppings, creating their perfect ice cream sundaes.

To make things even more exciting chef joined us to showcase his talents in serving up any flavour conbination we desired with toppings to finish off each ice cream master-piece.

A fantastic time was had by all.

Church Service at Glebefields

We had a lovely time coming together for our Sunday church service, kindly led by the wonderful Reverend Alicia Baker. There was lots of hymn singing, thoughtful readings, and plenty of smiles all around.

Our residents really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the chance to reflect and connect with one another.

Drayton Village Hall Coffee Morning

Our residents had a wonderful time attending the monthly coffee morning with the Drayton villagers (and pets). . . It’s always a joy to see friendships grow and smiles shared over a freshly made cup of coffee.

These regular community gatherings are such a meaningful part of our residents’ lives, helping them stay connected, engaged, and involved with the local community. Looking forward to next month already!
