Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Glebefields Care Home

Happy Birthday Dear Marlene
We had such a very good time celebrating our lovely resident Marlene's 89th birthday. Her lifelong friends, fellow residents and all the staff gathered around to share in the joy and wish her well. Marlene blew out the candles and cut her birthday cake with a big smile on her face. We surprised her with a special gift and a lovely birthday card from all of us. Marlene said: "I couldn’t of wished for a more perfect day today, fully of surprises and treats with lots of special wishes, thank you'' Here's to many more wonderful years ahead for Marlene.

Happy Birthday Dear Joan
Celebrated our lovely resident Joan's 80th birthday and had the loveliest time. Seeing her face with surprise and happiness was really amazing. When she opened the birthday card and read all the messages from the staff, she became emotional. It was such a touching moment, and she loved all the little surprise gifts she got. She even said: ''This is one of the best birthdays I've ever had.'' Here's too many more wonderful years for Joan.

British Pie Week
It is British Pie Week, and we made some yummy apple and cherry pies in our home. Diane, our lovely resident, suggested making apple turnovers, and we used leftover pastry to make jam tarts. The smell of cherries made us hungry, and we cannot wait to taste them once they cool down. Who wants a slice of homemade pie?

Happy Mother's Day
We had a wonderful celebration not only dedicated to Mother's Day but also in honour of all the incredible women in our lives.
We celebrated the day with an afternoon tea party with wonderful entertainment from Champagne Enterprises. The celebration begins with our lovely residents cutting a special cake made by our Head Chef, Bose Jose. Everyone received chocolates. It was a lovely day spent with families and loved ones. We welcomed all families, and together with our residents, they enjoyed freshly brewed tea and snacks. It was a very lovely moment as residents, families, and staff joined in the entertainment, with some even trying their hand at singing along. It was a great celebration, recognising not just motherhood but also the beauty and strength of all women.

Minibus trip to Banbury Museum
We recently visited the Banbury Museum. Pauline, Joan, Tom, Sheila, and Marlene really enjoyed checking out all the old stuff like machinery, clothes, and tapestries.
Joan who is Banbury born and bred was very knowledgeable on its history happily telling all about it. Afterwards we visited the museum cafe where residents enjoyed a well-deserved hot drink and tasty lunch. Our trips are always fun, and we are now planning our next trip to M&S Banbury for shopping and refreshments.

Saint David's Day
We welcome spring by celebrating Saint David's Day. Our residents and staff decorated our home with symbols of Welsh daffodils. We had a good time reminiscing about Welsh traditions and food culture. Our lovely resident Marlene, who is a proud Welsh, expressed her happiness to celebrate the day. We all sang the national anthem and enjoyed a fun time with a Saint David's Day word game. Once more, Happy Saint David's Day and Happy Spring to everyone.
