Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Celebrating Our Amazing Carers

At Glebefields Care Home, we celebrated Carers Week with a wonderful gathering, featuring a barbecue in the garden and a cake-cutting ceremony, honouring our dedicated carers and residents. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the carers in the Glebefields family for their tireless efforts and compassion.

Carers Week is an annual event that raises awareness of caring, highlights the challenges carers face, and recognises the vital contribution they make to our residents, families, and communities across the UK. This year's theme is 'Putting Carers on the Map', aiming to raise awareness and recognition for carers' immense contributions, especially in an election year.

We appreciate all that you do to brighten the lives of those in your care. Thank you so much for all our lovely carers in our Glebefields family.

Celebrating 200 Years of Cadbury

We had a Virtual Live Event with the nations favourite chocolate brand, Cadbury, we were happy to discover the fascinating story of Cadbury's remarkable success, from its humble beginnings to its 200th anniversary celebrations in 2024. The carefully sorted archive materials brought to life the history of this beloved British brand, which has been a part of people's lives for generations, in both big and small moments. The brand's rich heritage influenced a wave of nostalgic memories among our residents, each with their own cherished Cadbury experiences.

To coincide with Dementia Awareness Week, Cadbury partnered with the Alzheimer's Society and generously provided every Barchester Home in the country with two wonderful boxes of Dairy Milk chocolates. It was a very lovely and nostalgic event that everyone enjoyed.

Minibus trip out

We had a wonderful day out for our residents. We visited Barn Farm Antiques Centre, where they enjoyed browsing through the various antiques and vintage items on display. It was happy to see them reminiscing and sharing stories about the past. And we headed to a nearby cafe for a hot drink and some delicious cake. It was the perfect way to round off a lovely spring day.
