Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Minibus Trip

We had an amazing trip to the retail park, Banbury. Our residents enjoyed visiting Hobbycraft, where Joan found some fantastic wool and storage boxes for her crafting.

One of the lovely moments of the trip was meeting Molly, the adorable 5-month-old dog. Tom instantly fell in love with her. And to top it all off, we treated ourselves to a well-deserved Costa coffee. A wonderful day out with wonderful people.

Diwali Celebrations at Glebefields

Glebefields care home hosted a wonderful cultural evening to celebrate Diwali, the Indian "Festival of Lights."

Residents, their families, and our dedicated staff came together for a special evening with cultural pride, delicious food, and colourful decorations. All staff members dressed in traditional clothing and brought homemade dishes to share, creating a rich variety of flavours.

Everyone enjoyed spicy samosas, crispy onion bhajis, and a selection of Indian sweets like barfi, milk pedas, and laddus. A special addition was the Romanian Cozonac, bringing even more cultural flavour to the evening. Head Chef Bose Jose and the hospitality team also prepared a range of traditional Indian dishes, which added to the wonderful celebration.

Care Assistant Shilpa shared the story of Diwali with everyone, explaining the meaning of the festival and how it celebrates the victory of light over darkness. Activities Assistants Ashitha, Camyrn, and staff members Shilpa, Akhil, and Mercy worked hard to decorate our home with beautiful and colourful decorations. They used marigold flowers, garlands, diyas, and candles to symbolize the triumph of good over evil.

It was a memorable evening of unity and happiness, reminding us all of the power of light, hope, togetherness, and cultural pride.
