Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ashitha Dinesh
Hi, I'm Ashitha, and I'm proud to be part of the team at Glebefields Care Home as an Activities Assistant. I joined the Glebefields family in 2023, having earned my master’s degree in electrical engineering from Coventry University. Despite my engineering background, I bring a fresh perspective to enriching the lives of our residents. I enjoy creating an environment where they can have fun, connect with others, and stay mind active. Together with my co-workers, I'm dedicated to making every moment special for our residents, bringing happiness and meaning to their lives. It's an honour to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated team at Glebefields Care Home.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Glebefields Care Home

Saint David's Day
We welcome spring by celebrating Saint David's Day. Our residents and staff decorated our home with symbols of Welsh daffodils. We had a good time reminiscing about Welsh traditions and food culture. Our lovely resident Marlene, who is a proud Welsh, expressed her happiness to celebrate the day. We all sang the national anthem and enjoyed a fun time with a Saint David's Day word game. Once more, Happy Saint David's Day and Happy Spring to everyone.

Barchester's Big Bingo Bonanza
Our Glebefields care home joined others from over 250 Barchester care homes and hospitals across the UK, including Wales, Scotland, Jersey, and the Isle of Wight, to play bingo in the largest game Barchester has ever had.
It was a lovely time with all our residents, their families, neighbors, and staff enjoying the big bingo event together.
Our lovely resident Joan said: "I always enjoy playing bingo. It was great to see everyone from the other homes joining in too. I had a lovely time getting together with my fellow residents to compete against the other homes. Oh, and I even won a line in the second game, out of hundreds of homes playing.”
waiting for more fantastic events like this in the future. Cheers! Also, all winners and participants received surprise gifts too.

Flower club
Our lovely residents are gathered to choose their favourite flowers and create beautiful arrangements. It is such a lovely way to spend time together and you would not believe how good it feels for the mind, body, and soul. The whole home smells amazing once we have got those fresh flowers around. Happy to see the smiles on everyone's faces.

Tristan Pate Entertains
We had a great time this week with solo guitarist Tristan Jackson-Pate! He played a variety of songs and shared stories that kept our residents entertained, with everyone joining in to sing along. Thanks, Tristan, for the fantastic performance! We're looking forward to your next visit.

Fitness Fun with Alfie from G-Fitness!
Our residents had a fantastic time during their four weekly fitness sessions with Alfie from G-Fitness! They Eagerly participated in a variety of upper and lower body exercises to keep their wellbeing in check. David shared, "I know this will do me good," while Christine amazed us all with her stamina. Rod summed it up perfectly, saying, "That was fun and definitely beneficial!" Keep it up the great work, everyone!

Fashion Week at Glebefields Care Home!
This week, we've been getting creative and stylish as we prepare for London Fashion Week! Our residents have been busy making their own clothes boards, filled with pictures of outfits they used to wear or would love to wear now. From designing their own dresses to adding decorations, everyone has been sharing their ideas to create beautiful outfits for various occasions.
Our Admin Assistant, Dinesh, also joined in on the fashion fun! He happily designed the dress with the input of our residents. It's been a lovely moment filled with laughter, creativity, and lots of reminiscing about fashion through the years.
