Activities at Four Hills Care Home

Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.

We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.

The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Life at Four Hills Care Home

Glamorous Grannies Afternoon

We had a fabulous time at our glamorous grannies afternoon this month, staff and residents decided to get styled up in their pyjamas, while been treated to some fabulous pampering, they enjoyed face masks, manicures and some new hair styles. Margaret said it was just like being at a fancy spa hotel as she relaxed with a lovely glass of wine.

Next weeks the roles are reversed and the residents plan to pamper the staff for looking after them so well.

A Visit from Poppie

Residents at Four Hills have been loving Poppie coming into spend days with us during the summer holidays.

Poppie has already created a lovely bond with a number of residents, she has been taking them back to their childhood by bringing in games for them to play, playing schools and houses together.

Every time Poppie walks through the door the residents have big beaming smiles on their faces and she interacts so well with them.

National Ice Cream Day

Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event in celebration on National Ice Cream Day. Wall’s team took us on a great journey through history, sharing fascinating details about the brand since its launch in 1922. We learned about major innovations such as the introduction of Mr Whippy, Cornetto, Viennetta, Twister, and Carte d'Or.

Residents were treated to a sing-along to Cornetto classic ads, an interactive quiz about fun Wall’s facts and best-of-all, an ice-cream tasting session. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our ice-cream lovers.

Dogs Trust

Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event, led by Jennifer and Emily from Dogs Trust, the UK's largest dog welfare charity. Jennifer and Emily took us on a journey to discover the rich history of Dogs Trust and their facilities.

Using captivating video and photo footage, our residents were able to explore rehoming centres and learn more about the highest level of welfare offered there. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our dog lovers.

Four Hills Celebrates 30 Years

Four Hills has thrown a summer themed cocktail party to celebrate 30 years of serving the local community.

Staff, residents and guests commemorated this special occasion with live music, cocktails, mocktails, cakes and delicious nibbles.

Four Hills has built up excellent reputations within its local communities. The home regularly holds events and activities for its residents and surrounding neighbours. Four Hills was built 30 years ago on the site of an old ironworks in the middle of a thriving local community.

General Manager, Eleanor said: “It is important to recognise the hard work of our staff here at Four Hills.  For the past 30 years, we have provided a caring home for our residents as well as the best possible environment for our staff.  Today not only enables us to celebrate their hard work, but it's also an opportunity to thank the residents, their relatives and friends who have made Four Hills such a loving home.”

Much loved nurse retires after 22-years

After almost 22 years of continuous service at Four Hills in Glasgow, much-loved Charge Nurse, Margaret Grandison has decided to retire.

Staff and residents at the home sent Margaret off in style with champagne and presents to thank her for many years of dedication during an afternoon tea party, where staff and relatives both past and present attended to give Margaret a wonderful send off. Everyone at the home has very fond memories of Margaret and she will be sadly missed.
