Activities at Four Hills Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.
We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.
The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Life at Four Hills Care Home

Harrogate Chocolate Factory
We had a brilliant time across our services with Harrogate Skills 4 Living as they took us on a wonderful virtual visit to their Harrogate Chocolate Factory.
Residents were thrilled to discover details about the chocolate-making process and the fascinating journey from bean to bar, all while enjoying some delicious sweet treats.
The Factory aims to employ people with learning disabilities and autism, involving them in all parts of the process, from sorting and roasting the beans to packaging and sales. The experience was truly enjoyed by all who joined this event.

An evening at the movies
The gents of Four Hills enjoyed a lovely evening trip out to the cinema to see the new Bob Marley film. Resident, Robert has always had a massive love of bob’s music and as soon as he seen he had a movie out, he requested through our wish tree for a trip to see this, and we were only too happy to oblige.
We made a lovely evening of it, stopping off for a meal out before our trip to the cinema, Robert said it was a great experience and he was delighted we could arrange this for him and it was great to have other residents join him to enjoy the experience.

Mother's Day
The ladies and families of Four Hills had a wonderful day , celebrating Mother’s Day together, we had some great live entertainment from Gerry ‘Rat Pack’ Everett.
We sang along to all our favourite Sinatra songs, then afterward we enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea from our kitchen team, all washed down with a glass of bubbles. Everyone commented it was a great way to spend the day.

London Ladies
As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, Residents from across our services were thrilled to join tour guide, Mandy Morrow, for an exciting talk about some Legendary London Ladies.
Mandy shared the fascinating stories of eight ladies with us, from the one of the richest heiresses in the world to the original 'Roaring Girl'.
Everyone who participated truly enjoyed the experience and were delighted to take a walk down memory lane.

Bingo Bonanza
Across the country our homes and hospitals came together to find out which care home or hospital had the best Bingo players as we teamed up for Barchester’s Bingo Bonanza.
Residents were treated to some exciting virtual games of Bingo as part of Barchester’ very own game show series.
Everyone who participate had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.

Valentine's Day
Love was in the air at Fourhills this month, the whole home was decorated with hearts and flowers, on the day itself Fourhills hosted an afternoon tea for residents, their significant others and family members to join us, we all enjoyed getting tucked into all the delicious baking the residents had made for it. Then in the evening our head chef Paul pulled out all the stops and created a delicious romantic 3 course meal for our couples who live here together, we set the mood by decorating the room, having romantic music playing all washed down with a few glasses of bubbles.
