Activities at Four Hills Care Home

Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.

We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.

The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Life at Four Hills Care Home

The rich history of coronations

Across our services Residents had a wonderful time participating in an interactive virtual talk with Pippa Catterall, Professor of History and Policy at the University of Westminster, where we delved into the rich history of coronations.

During the talk, we explored fascinating topics such as the coronation chair, the crown, and other significant aspects related to King Charles' upcoming coronation. Our residents were thrilled to have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the memoirs of past coronations from 1937 and 1953, as well as learning about the coronation oath and what to expect from the ceremony, including the music, guests, and pageantry.

A Trip to Celtic Park

It was a great trip down memory lane that evoked some special memories for the gents of Four Hills as we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Celtic Park. We got to sit in the seats of some very famous players, see all the trophies that their favourite team has won over the years, walk down the tunnel like their idols have and take a seat in the managers chair! All the gents remarked that it was such a wonderful, special day that they will remember for a long time.

Les résidents apprennent à parler Français

"Residents are learning to speak French"

Four Hills residents are really enjoying our 10 week French course from Carolyn at Lingo Flamingo, some are learning a totally new skill, others are brushing up on what we remember from school, we also enjoyed a French themed afternoon of cheese & wine for all our residents.

Geo Daddy

Residents at Four Hills were delighted to welcome the Folk Group ‘Geo Daddy’ to perform at our home, the group gave a fantastic performance, residents sang and danced the afternoon away, we are all looking forward to having them back.

Home celebrates French Language Day

Residents at Four Hills in Glasgow have been practicing their Entente Cordiale for French Language Day which took place on March 20th.

Residents took part in French-themed activities throughout the day including an afternoon of delicious wine and cheese while we listened to some French music, with the highlight of the day being our French lesson from the lovely people at Lingo Flamingo, our residents are taking part in a 10 week French course, some learning a totally new skill, others brushing up on what we remember from school.

Eleanor Wilson, General Manager at Four Hills said: “We’ve all had une journée formidable learning all about the French language. It was so interesting to learn how much cross-over there is between the two languages, we all knew far more than we thought we did and our residents remembered so much from their French classes at school – amazing how these things stay with you!”

Historic Royal Palaces

Across our services, our residents were treated to a special virtual sensory storytelling session.  Together with Art Historian Jon Sleigh and the Historic Royal Palaces community team, we explored several royal palaces through the theme of food, dining and celebration!

We enjoyed a fantastic taste-a-long experience from the comfort of our home, from Tudor treats to Stuart sweets. A lovely time was had by all.
