Activities at Four Hills Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.
We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.
The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Life at Four Hills Care Home

Cornish Seal Sanctuary
A big thank you to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary for the fantastic live virtual event today!
Residents across our services loved seeing the seals up close and learning about the incredible work the sanctuary does to protect them and other wildlife in Cornwall as well.
Everyone truly enjoyed the experience.

World Photo Day
Residents at Four Hills loved taking part in World Photo Day, lots of them brought along albums, family photos and were keen to share their stories with each other about where they were taken and what they were doing at the time, some residents were out in the gardens using cameras to take their own photos of the flowers, plants and trees and some of each other, we are hoping to get enough together to start our own gallery.

Elvis is in the Garden!
We were all shook up at our yearly garden party with a special visit from Elvis, residents loved being serenaded by him, listening to all their favourite hits and even having a dance.
Residents loved the cocktail theme and trying lots of new flavours, along with enjoying some delicious ice- creams and nibbles.
We also held a raffle and tombola which residents and families helped us put together with lots of effort we managed to raise over £700 for our residents funds, which will be put towards more live entertainment and a pool table some of the residents have requested.

Visiting our local Fire Station
Residents were delighted with a recent trip to our local fire station. Ian one of our residents had requested this through our make a wish come true tree.
Ian was a firefighter for 17 years, at all of our reminiscing sessions that we have in the home Ian would chat about how much he missed it and was always sharing stories about his life in the service and wondered what changes would have happened since he left. We arranged for Ian to have a tour of the fire station, see how the equipment had changed. Ian took along his book from his time in the service to share with the current firefighters, they were delighted to listen to Ian stories and share some of their own experiences with him. Ian said it was a fantastic day and one he wouldn’t forget, since being back Ian has been telling all his family about what happened on the day and how great it was.

Homes join 100th virtual event
Barchester care homes and hospitals nationwide linked together for a fantastic quiz in celebration of Barchester’s 100th live virtual event.
Residents engaged in a variety of questions ranging from historical trivia to visual puzzles and brainteasers.
For those joining everyone had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.

Charity Cook Off
Staff and residents are celebrating because their wonderful Managing Director, Fiona Fagan, from Barchester’s North East and Scotland Division, has stepped completely out of her comfort zone to compete in the Barchester Charitable Foundation Cook Off 2024.
Fiona went head-to-head with the Managing Directors from Barchester’s four other divisions and cooked up a storm to raise a phenomenal £24,595 for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation which helps connect vulnerable people and those living with a disability to community groups in their local area by providing grants to improve mobility and quality of life. Each year the Foundation distributes thousands of pounds to individuals, small community groups and charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
