Activities at Four Hills Care Home

Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.

We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.

The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Life at Four Hills Care Home

Sewing Group

We were joined by the local children’s sewing group who presented our residents with doodle blankets they had made. Everyone had a great time chatting to the children about how they were created.

Festive Crafts Get Residents into Christmas Spirit

Four Hill residents are busy getting into the festive spirit with a Christmas crafts afternoon. Residents got together in the dining room to create Christmas wreaths, cards and pictures to give as gifts for their families. To add to their creativity some enjoyed a festive sing-along to their Christmas songs and carols before sitting back to admire their finished work with a cup of tea.

One Resident commented: “We had a lovely afternoon together making some beautiful Christmas decorations.” Gillian McKnight, General Manager said: “Our art classes are a popular activity for our Residents, with everyone working together to make great festive gifts to give to family and friends and we welcome members of the community to come along and join us at our activities.

Residents Enjoy Exercise Therapy

Residents were very enthusiastic throughout their recent exercise session as they welcome some very special visitors to join them and commented on how great it was to laugh and smile whilst keeping fit. Everyone was rewarded for their efforts with healthy snacks and refreshments.

Gillian McKnight, General Manager said “Our group activities are very popular with our residents  and our seated exercise is such a great way to improve their wellbeing, and it’s even better to see them having such a wonderful time doing it! It has become one of their’ favourite activities to do. Independence is really important to them, and this helps to improve their overall strength and balance to move more freely around the home.

Exercise therapy sessions are just one of the variety of regular activities available for residents to enjoy at Four Hills
