Activities at Field House Care Home
The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.

Caroline Davis
Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.
Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.
In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Field House Care Home

Planting, Singing and Dancing!
Such a busy day at Field House today starting with a general knowledge brain teaser Quiz! Prizes awarded to Howard and Elizabeth for having great general knowledge. Before lunch Peter took his self into the garden to get started with our winter hanging baskets, beautiful mixed Pansies for us this year! After lunch we enjoyed a glass of fizz and an afternoon of singing and dancing with singer and entertainer Tom Byrne.

Rummikub Challenge
As usual Field House residents have enjoyed doing lots of different activities, our weekly keep fit group always finishes up with a game or two this week residents voted for team games, hoops and bean bags were voted in what fun everyone had.
We are very determined to learn a new game! RUMMIKUB resident Howard has been so patient with us all but this afternoon the penny dropped and we were on a roll, even Peter looked interested to give it a go next time.

Macmillan Coffee Morning
What a fantastic Day we had at Field House raising money for a charity very close to all our hearts. We enjoyed lovely cakes and welcoming new visitors in to our lovely home. Larry our new maintenance man entertained everyone in the garden with lots of sing along classics. We are over the moon as we raised £180 for Macmillan

Day Trip to Llandudno
Today some of the residents of Field House enjoyed a trip to the seaside, Llandudno was our destination and as the last of the summer sun shone we enjoyed a walk to the end of the pier, had a lovely lunch then a strolled back for an ice cream. It was a fantastic day full of laughter, reminiscence of past holidays and the odd shooing away of seagulls! Getting all that sea air will certainly help us sleep well tonight.

A Visit from the Rotary Club
This week at Field House we invited the Rotary Club of Church Stretton to come along and share with us all the good work they do in the community and abroad with fundraising and Charity work. Residents and myself found it very interesting to hear everything they do. We finished with tea and cake. One gentleman said he couldn’t wait to try our cake as he had been told it was the best in town. He loved it!

Enjoying National Wildlife Day
Yesterday we celebrated National Wildlife Day by popping to our local Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms were we spotted meadow buttercups, a dragonfly and lots of beautiful butterflies. We enjoyed a cup of tea and visited the gift shop before returning home. This was such an enjoyable and relaxing morning, we're very fortunate to have such natural beauty on our doorstep!
