Activities at Fairview House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators create a weekly planner that consists of a variety of activities, which caters to all residents' needs as best as possible. The most popular activities are bingo, which we host twice a week, flower arranging and weekly visits from Vinnie our pet therapy dog. Residents also enjoy minibus trips in the nicer weather and we attend a concert every month. We are also involved in the Council Well-being Team, which keeps us up-to date with upcoming events within the community and provides interesting ideas for activities we can try in the home.

Throughout the year, we host various special events, including themed open days and summer and winter fetes that people in our local communities are welcome to join us for. We also have monthly church services with Rev. Ann from Danestone Congregational Church, which is open to loved ones as well.

Life at Fairview House Care Home

Visit From The Plucking Pals Ukulele Band

The Plucking Pals ukulele band brought their lively tunes to Fairview House as our residents, relatives guests and colleagues couldn't help but tap their shoes to their favourite tunes and it wasn't long before the home had a full dance floor as everyone enjoyed  memorable afternoon.

Following on this from fabulous performance our guests and residents enjoyed a selection of refreshing beverages and tasty snacks prepared by our talented kitchen team.

London Ladies

As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, Residents from across our services were thrilled to join tour guide, Mandy Morrow, for an exciting talk about some Legendary London Ladies.

Mandy shared the fascinating stories of eight ladies with us, from the one of the richest heiresses in the world to the original 'Roaring Girl'.

Everyone who participated truly enjoyed the experience and were delighted to take a walk down memory lane.

Bingo Bonanza

Across the country our homes and hospitals came together to find out which care home or hospital had the best Bingo players as they teamed up for Barchester’s Bingo Bonanza.

Residents were treated to some exciting virtual games of Bingo as part of Barchester’ very own game show series.

Everyone who participated had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.
