Hi, my name is Arlene, and I am the General Manager here at Fairview House. Welcome to our website!
I have 20 years of nursing experience. I trained in Glasgow as an RGN and continued my studies at night school for 2 years to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies. I also worked as a Sister for the NHS in an intensive care unit.
I have been managing nursing homes since 2007, ranging over the years from a 98 bedded home In New Zealand and a 64 bedded home in Argyll to a 54 bedded home in Aberdeenshire and a 30 bedded home in Edinburgh.
I pride myself in helping staff to deliver positive outcomes for residents by ensuring they have the skills to work autonomously, which will ensure that all staff are proud to work at Fairview House.
I have 14 years of experience working in care homes and with elderly people and I have worked at Fairview for 1 year.
I enjoy my role as I support the General Manager and have a responsibility to make changes that will benefit the residents and my colleagues. I have a passion for the care of older people and I endeavour to provide a homely atmosphere for residents and their families, whilst also promoting high standards of evidence-based clinical care.
We have a fantastic team here at Fairview who are all committed to delivering the best possible care to those we support.
Hi, my name is Karen, and I am the administrator here at Fairview House.
I deal with all aspects of the administration of the home to ensure it runs smoothly, from invoicing, ordering, recruitment, setting up contracts, to manning the telephones, there's never a dull day!
I have worked here since 2019. I enjoy fulfilling happiness within the home and supporting our residents daily with our extensive life enrichment programme.
I am the Charge Nurse on our Memory Lane community here at Fairview. I thoroughly enjoy working and caring for the residents. I am passionate and strive to deliver a high standard of care for our residents.
Hello, my name is Florie and I am a charge nurse here at Fairview. I have been at Fairview since April 2019. I am passionate about delivering a high standard of care to our residents.
Hello, my name is Julie and I am a charge nurse here at Fairview. I have been at Fairview since December 2018 and enjoy working with the elderly. I have a varied experience working in homes and hospitals around the Aberdeen area.
I have been privileged to be winner of the 2018 Nall Care Chef of the Year, and invited to be a judge at the 2019 final, working with extremely knowledgeable people. I have been in care for 6 years now, working with Balhousie, Mealmore and Craigard. I love producing quality food that is tasty, appetizing and very appealing to my clients.
I seek feedback from residents, relatives and fellow professionals in order to produce the pinnacle of variety, textures, colour and flavour, ensuring we cater for everybody’s needs. As a rather mature chef, I spent 24 years in the army, where I worked mainly in officers' messes, producing anything from top table lunch to weekend balls.
My daily duties include preparing and cooking wholesome, nutritious, well-balanced and tasty meals for residents. I have learned how to create many local dishes since starting here, including skirlie, mince and tatties!

Hi, I’m Maureen, and I have been the Physiotherapist at Fairview House since 2014. My role as Physiotherapist is very important for enabling our residents to remain active and for rehabilitation after injuries or illnesses to restore function. I assess all new residents at Fairview House to ensure that we have a keen understanding of their walking ability, balance strength, posture and function. I also run the 'Music & Movement' weekly class along with the activity staff and residents.
Hi, my name is Jade and I am one of the homes activities coordinators here at Fairview House. I am a Robert Gordon University graduate, graduating in communication design and illustration. I specialise in design, illustration and fashion and textiles running my own small business and running various community workshop projects around Aberdeen, however, I like to experiment in various activities and always keen to learn more and try new things. As someone passionate about art and design, I hope to bring some exciting new ideas, workshops and other craft activities for the residents to take part in.
