Activities at Elgar Court Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Kerrie Perks

Activities Leader

Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide the unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court.  I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake.  I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends.  I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to ride horses and compete nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove athletics club.  In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Cornhole is Back!

It's the start of lovely warm and lighters days! This weekend, our residents and their families made the most of this weather and had a spot of cornholing! We even introduced one of our new guests to the joys of this game, and getting everyone involved including families. Why not come along to our home and have a go yourself?

Delectable delights!

As part of our Barchester Foundation Charity Cook Off competition, Residents at Elgar Court wanted to experience a taste of the menu produced by our Regional Directors. Today they chose the afternoon tea “Savoury Cheese scone with a home-made apple slice crisp and home-made chutney”, which was tested by Peter, our resident ambassador to ensure the quality came up to scratch. Peters said, “It’s not too big or too small and actually I’ve never tried a savoury scone before but this is really good”. If you would like to donate to the Barchester Charity Foundation this year, you can add to the 'Just Giving' page and be in with a change to win an Elgar Court Raffle prize (call us after giving and register your entry 01684 211720): https://www.justgiving.com/page/claireisabelacookoff...

Food & Hydration Week

National Food & Hydration Week is an annual event to highlight, promote and celebrate improvements in the provision of nutrition and hydration locally, nationally and globally. At Elgar Court we understand how important nutritious meals and keeping hydrated is to keeping our residents' mind, body and souls active. These are essential to improve and maintain our residents’ health and wellbeing so they can all enjoy life at Elgar Court. And as well as looking after our residents, we also like to look out for our community nursing teams – pictured here with Liz our deputy manager (on the left) and hospital staff gifted with water bottles and treats to keep them well during their busy day!
