Activities at Elgar Court Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Kerrie Perks

Activities Leader

Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide the unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court.  I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake.  I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends.  I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to ride horses and compete nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove athletics club.  In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.

International Elf Day and the Macular Degeneration Charity Day!

We are supporting International Elf Day and the Macular Degeneration Charity Day!

Our cheeky little Elves were helping in and around the home today! From helping residents to decorate the mini christmas cakes we made for charity (laden with brandy too), to naughty water fights in our home! What a giggle! PS: I think Sarah our Home Manager was in her element decorating cakes with Joan, Maureen and Sheila!

Make A Wish this Christmas

At our home each resident is celebrated in their own right, and every day one of resident’s is made ‘Resident of the Day!’  We would like to make you dreams come true, so make a wish in our comments below and like our post and we will be in contact wth the lucky winner in the new year!

Elevenses Galore!

Yet again, we have another post showing off our delicious delights served to our residents!  Chef made fresh cream eclairs today were piled high on our tea trolley and served to residents with their morning elevenses (I think our Resident Ambassador had two…..!).  We really love being able to spoil our residents, and each day there is something new for all everyone to enjoy!

Gonk Activities

You may remember our resident Freddy in September was making Gonks for charity, and he has been sharing this special Gonk making skills with other residents at one of our weekly events.  It’s always good to try something new, and other residents enjoyed an afternoon of learning this technique and a lot of laughter!
