Activities at Elgar Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Kerrie Perks
Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide the unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court. I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake. I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends. I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to ride horses and compete nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove athletics club. In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Barchester Care Awards
Congratulations to all the Barchester Care Award winners!
Today at the the highly anticipated Barchester Care Awards 2024, Elgar Court cheered along to the live showing of this event watching nominated staff being recognised as the best of the best across many skills in Barchester – all voted for by residents, relatives, staff and friends of our homes and hospitals. We were so delighted that Paul Patchet our Head of Maintenance, was nominated for his charity fund raising efforts for the Barchester Foundation Charity this year, where he and his colleagues cycled over 200 miles from Wales to Oxfordshire. WELL DONE PAUL!!!

World Menopause Day
Today is World Menopause Day, and we invited Dr Kirsten Protheroe from @Home Visit Healthcare to discuss Menopause and answer questions on support available to women and men wanting to support women. Dr Kirsten will be hosting other Menopause talks in the new year, so please sign up to our mailing list for future event dates.
Barchester has over 260 homes across the UK, with a third of it’s workforce of an age experiencing perimenopause and menopause. At Elgar Court, we have dedicated menopause support for our staff, including a wonderful basket of goodies of Menopause information, relaxation aids, restorative refreshments and toiletries! All Barchester managers and directors are incredibly sensitive and supportive to staff needs during this transition in a woman’s life, and we will do all we can to ensure they are listened to, and get the support they need. Thank you!

Our new residents love the water!
