Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Martin Tilly-Reed

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park

My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.

I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here  to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Prom Surprise

The precious love between a Granddaughter and her Nan is one to cherish. We were privileged to see that generational love for ourselves this month when the Granddaughter of resident Lynne; Hayle Morrish visited her Nan on the way to her Prom Event at The Park Inn, Northampton.

Accompanied by Lynne's daughter-in-law Tanya, Hayle looked a million dollars in her beautiful gown and Lynne's face said it all, she is so proud of Hayle ... it made all our hearts melt.

Great Barchester Cook Off!

The Central division's Managing Director, Angela Bradford stepped completely out of her comfort zone to compete in the Barchester Charitable Foundation Cook Off 2024. Angela went head to head with the Managing Directors from Barchester’s four other divisions and cooked up a storm to raise a phenomenal £24,595 for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation which helps connect vulnerable people and those living with a disability to community groups in their local area by providing grants to improve mobility and quality of life.

Angela made some fabulous dishes for her Cook Off Challenge, first she prepared Marbella Chicken with a garlic and asparagus Mediterranean sauce before she moved on to a Summer Fruit Pavlova, both of which were very well received by the judging panel made up members of Barchester’s Executive team.  She was pipped at the post but highly commended by the judges none the less.

Our Operations Manager, Kelen Feng, said: “We are all so proud of Angela for taking part in this challenge, she really is amazing – is there nothing she can’t do!  Her dishes looked absolutely fantastic and she raised so much for the Foundation, we think she is an absolute super star!

Weekly Exercise with Anya

'Pinch punch the first day of the month' What a fabulous start to July we've had with Anya from Gfitness This week, our residents were working on their muscle strength, practising with punches, beanbag throws and more!

Nanette said "It's great to do this every week, it gets us up and moving and makes sure we're fit and ready for the week ahead."

Strawberries and Cream

The start of Wimbledon means one thing at Collingtree Park, strawberries and cream!

We couldn't resist putting them on top of some freshly baked scones. Chef Tamara took the scones to our residents fresh out of the oven, and everyone was very impressed! Joan said "What a treat to enjoy strawberries and cream - thank you chef!".
