Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Collingtree Park Care Home

Get Barchester Moving!
We've kickstarted 'Get Barchester Moving' with our residents on Memory Lane this week - with ball games, tennis and even darts all designed to strengthen the upper body. Everyone had a lovely afternoon and still had the energy to sing a little karaoke afterwards! Well done everyone, lets keep moving and a grooving!

Happy Birthday Lovely 'Lynne'
Happiest of birthdays to lovely smiley Lynne!
Lynne joined us a few weeks ago, and said today "Thank you so much for making me feel welcomed and looked after. I have been told about your cakes but really didn't expect everyone to turn out - especially to sing to me! Thank you everyone". We're so happy you have enjoyed your birthday Lynne, thank you for sharing your cake with us too!

Whitefields Surgery Carers Event
Our deputy manager; Nicola enjoyed meeting many of the local community at Whitefields Surgery, Camp Hill during their National Carers Week Event. It was an opportunity for people to grab a free coffee and one of the Collingtree Park chefs cookies as they took time to chat with Nicola and all the other care focused teams on show.

D-Day 80th Anniversary Remembered
Today we honoured the bravery and sacrifice of those involved in the D-Day landings. Our care home held a special commemoration event to remember this pivotal moment in history.
Residents shared their memories and stories with one another and we enjoyed a fabulous performance from Miss Catty G the daughter of Peter Giles from Nice N Easy Activity Show Community Group who really got our residents, staff and guests in the mood to sing and dance. Even Miss Catty's 'Dad Jokes' raised a laugh or two!
Chef Jennifer and the homes' hospitality team laid on a magnificent buffet based around the produce available in the 1940s which finished the day of perfectly. We will never forget the sacrifice's our forces made on that day. Today, and always... We will Remember.

Monthly Church Service
Our residents have enjoyed a visit from Vicar James, who joins us every month for a church service in our home. This month the residents sang hymns (and even used Alexa for backing music!). They also shared things they are thankful for this month, and shared a prayer for those they felt needed it.
Thank you James for continuing to support Collingtree. This is a community church service, if you would like to join us please see poster below for more details.

Let's Get Moving!
This month's dementia cafe was all about "Get Barchester Moving", a fundraising initiative to encourage fitness in our care homes and to support The Barchester Foundation. During our cafe, we designed and painted T-shirts, which staff will be wearing during our 'moving minutes' as we cycle to Leicester Square to raise money and miles for our home.
