Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Pet Therapy with 'Eva'
Our regular pet therapy pouch Golden Spaniel; Eva always put a smile on our residents faces. Avis beamed from ear to ear as soon as she saw her. She used to have dogs and she was well-versed in making Eva sit and wait for her peanut paw treat.
Animal therapy is one of the cornerstones of our life enrichment program and features regularly on our resident-led weekly activity planner. We're welcoming new residents, if you're considering later life care for yourself or a loved one, please call the dedicated team on 01604 321 262 to start your enquiry today.

Connecting with Wootton Library
Wootton Community Library visited us today to deliver our first batch of borrowed books for the Autumn Leaves program! Collingtree Park residents; Pamela and Margaret are both looking forward to reading their new books, whilst Betty and Mavis are looking forward to listening to an audio book of their choice in the evening!
Thank you Maureen and Jackie for not only bringing the amazing large print, and audio books but also taking time to chat with our residents about the different genres they liked best; history, romance and thrillers. Remaining part of the local community is so important for our residents. We look forward to meeting with you again next month to discuss the books once we've had a good read.

Mature Drivers Roadshow
Today we had the pleasure of meeting all the wonderful attendees at the Mature Drivers Roadshow in the Icon Innovation Centre, Daventry It was wonderful to meet so many senior drivers and have the opportunity to showcase our beautiful home. Everyone enjoyed the freshly baked cookies and invitation to our community events and next Open Day which is on Saturday 7th September.

Coffee on the Course
Collingtree Park care home sits at the heart of the Collingtree park estate just a few minutes walk away from the beautiful Collingtree Park Golf Club. This week resident; Joan requested a trip out to the club, where she enjoyed chatting to the golfers and watching the wildlife!
Joan said "it's like another world compared to her home life I had growing up in the North." Joan enjoyed a 'posh' coffee and told Skye all about her work as a speech therapist in her younger days.
Joan told Skye "Whenever I meet new people I'm always listening to their tone and how they speak, it's just second nature to me." Luckily for Skye Joan thinks she speaks very well, and she thoroughly enjoyed their discussion.

Art Therapy
During this weeks art therapy session we spent time sharing memories of trips to the seaside. Resident Julian said he wanted to give his masterpiece to his wife as they loved being by the sea.
Pam said she has so many fond memories of the growing up near Margate with regular trips to the beach she loves everything about the coast.

Classical Afternoon Tea
Today our residents took afternoon tea relaxing to classical music performed by King & Rackham Duo. Andrew Rackham gave us a synopsis of each piece prior the duo's beautiful rendition.
One of the cornerstones of our life enrichment program is live musical entertainment. Resident involvement in choosing genres along with feedback after each performance means that we are able to constantly improve our activities calendar.
Today's audience loved the duo's performance and have requested we book them to return over the Christmas period.
