Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Kissing it Better
Through our 'Kissing it Better' project, we have built a great relationship with Channing School children, who all visit the home regularly.
Exercise & Movement
Regular exercising helps residents to keep fit and improves their health, so we took advantage of a sunny day and organised our weekly morning class in the garden. The sessions include work with balls, flexiband exercises, as well as stretches and aerobic movements.
The Queen's Garden Party
Residents, relatives and visitors gathered at a garden party to celebrate the Queen's birthday.
Everybody enjoyed strawberries and cream, music, cake and dancing in the sun until evening.
Summer BBQ
We had a fantastic time at our annual Summer BBQ! Residents, loved ones and members of the community joined us to enjoy some Pimm's, a country musical show where everybody sang along to famous tunes, a raffle and the best BBQ ever! However, the typical British weather let us down, so we couldn't be in the garden for this one.
Gardening
Residents enjoyed an afternoon in the garden working hard to have all the hanging baskets ready for our Summer BBQ Party.
Reminiscence Therapy: The '40s
Residents had a great time with Colin, who told stories about the '40s, World War 2, Hollywood and the good ol' songs that we all know and love.
