Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Christmas Party
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Christmas party.
Andrea Queens delighted us with her special, Christmas-themed cabaret show, which everyone enjoyed it a lot.
Christmas Musical
We started the Christmas celebrations early in December with a 'Let it Snow' musical, which was performed by The Cat's Pyjamas.
Barchester's 25th Anniversary
Residents, relatives and member of the community celebrated Barchester's 25th anniversary with a musical show performed by Franz Hepburn. Everyone enjoyed singing, dancing and indulging in some delicious cakes, finger food and a glass of champagne or two.
Wild Science Animal Therapy
The benefits of animal therapy are well documented; simple interactions, such as stroking, is beneficial to people of all ages.
Different animals bring different textures and personalities to the session. A mixture of cute fluffy animals and silky smooth reptiles provide a great experience that stays with people long after they leave.
Animal therapy is the ideal way for residents who may be less mobile to interact with animals and benefit from a new and unique experience.
Sandwich Making
Residents and staff members were busy all morning making dozens of Argentinian sandwiches, which everybody enjoyed in the afternoon with drinks, muffins, strawberries and cream – yummy!
Hope International
The Hope International charity visited us as part of their community work program. A group of 15 youngsters joined us over the weekend and residents enjoyed their company, playing games, singing and chatting. Resident and centenarian, Lawrence, delighted visitors with amazing stories from his days as a journalist and writer.
