Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Maria Durrant
Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019. My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents. I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.

Life at Chater Lodge Care Home
Spa Day
Residents at Chater Lodge enjoyed tranquil music, a relaxing hand massage and beautifully painted nails when Maria got her beauty trolley out.
Joyce's Bargains
Joyce loves a trip to the shop, especially when she is after a bargain, so she enjoyed a trip out in the Chater Lodge minibus and a stroll around Poundland.
Celebrating with Her Majesty
Residents at Chater Lodge had a fun Jubilee party to celebration our Queen's 70 years. We recalled our memories of Coronation Day and previous Jubilees while we enjoyed a delicious tea and tempting selection of cakes.
Ketton Coffee Morning
Residents from Chater House keep in touch with the local community at the Ketton Coffee Morning. Joyce enjoyed a hot chocolate with friends.
Visiting friends at the Bowls Club
Joyce was a member of Ketton Bowls Club for many years before she moved to Chater Lodge. We like to take her back there sometimes to catch up with all her old friends and meet new members.
Happy Birthday, Caroline
Caroline had a great birthday with cards, chocolates, visitors and a big strawberries and cream cake.
